Eight years of troubles
and only a few months of bliss
just look 'how far we come"
Yet.. we've only come to this
stuck on a little island
I feel you wish to escape
See the miles we've wandered
Yet you wonder aimlessly into the abyss
I try to offer words of comfort
and provide the arms you need to rest
but you look around
and abandon our cozy nest
The dreams are left hanging
the promises left corn husk dry
you are leaving me in spirit
leaving me to wonder exactly why..
