It is funny that you mention this. I think that the medical industry is more interested in keeping you alive so that they can make a profit for it. If you really think about do they truly care if you get better. Unfortunately, the answer is no they don't. They are purely in for the profit like most of corporate America.
I think that if you are in extreme pain then you should have a legal option to allow yourself to die and go on to Heaven or whatever realm you believe in. It is odd that for animals we can put them down but when it comes to a human it is unethical. I think if you are of sound mind then you should have the option.
