Not Too Important by Hilzoy Stunning:
"MATT LAUER: "If it’s working Senator, do you now have a better estimate of when American forces can come home from Iraq?"
SEN. MCCAIN: "No, but that’s not too important. What’s important is the casualties in Iraq. Americans are in South Korea, Americans are in Japan, American troops are in Germany. That’s all fine. American casualties and the ability to withdraw; we will be able to withdraw. General Petraeus is going to tell us in July when he thinks we are. But the key to it is that we don’t want any more Americans in harm’s way."
The McCain campaign says: "John McCain was asked if he had a "better estimate" for a timeline for withdrawal. As John McCain has always said, that is not as important as conditions on the ground and the recommendations of commanders in the field."
But, as Greg Sargent notes, McCain did not in fact say that when the troops come home was less important than something else; he said it was not too important, period.
Question: Dose any one want to comment about how it’s Not Too Important! Also Pleas tell us what you think about the Casualties he’s referring to. It sounded as if he was saying that more casualties are more important! Please help me understand this idiot.
Mugahead thoughts: Ok lets take the first line from McCain himself and analyze it for a minute!
"Not too important!" Is he saying that the time for them to come home is not important? I guess he dose not care about them at all. Or maybe he doesn’t care about us over here. It seems that he just don’t get the fact that this war is costing us all way too much. It seems as if he could care less about the lives of the men and women over there. Or that he cares less about the families left behind in the states. NOT TOO IMPORTANT suggests to me that WE ALL are not TOO IMPORTANT to him.
Look at Greg Sargent notes: The last words he wrote was; "he said it was not too important, period." He’s right about that! McCain dose think that they are not too important to bring home!
Ok now for analyzing the next line! "What’s important is the casualties in Iraq" What dose this mean? Dose this mean that he is ok with more casualties? Is he saying that the death toll is not that bad and it’s ok if we have more casualties? Am I reading between the lines and just making this up? This is my question’s that keep me from sleeping at night. Is John McCain telling us that we are stupid and will be ok with more casualties and war?
Now for analyzing the next line out of McCain’s mouth. "Americans are in South Korea, Americans are in Japan, American troops are in Germany. That’s all fine." It’s ok with him to have Americans spread around the whole world. It’s ok with him to stretch our troops so thin that we won’t have the ability to defend ourselves in a crisis. He likes the idea of being a war power and flexing our mussels in the faces of every country around the world. He doses not see any harm in doing that.
If a person was to do that to me to many times I will eventually have no choice but flex a few mussels of my own in response to the mussel flexing in the first place. This kind of mussel flexing it nothing more then a path, leading to an eventual war. Only warmonger’s do such things as pushing ones buttons until they can’t stand it any more. Sooner or later somebody is going to start punching back. Who can blame them!
Now I hate to say this but this all seems like double talk to me. Listen to the next few lines of John McCain. "American casualties and the ability to withdraw; we will be able to withdraw. General Petraeus is going to tell us in July when he thinks we are. But the key to it is that we don’t want any more Americans in harm’s way."
Ok her is the double talk I’m seeing in the last few words of McCain. First in the beginning of his words he says It’s NOT TOO IMPOTRANT then in a few words later he says "American casualties and the ability to withdraw; we will be able to withdraw." So it is IMPORTANT? Make up your mind McCain!!!
Then he says that he is waiting for General Petraeus to tell us. Ok I confused! I thought the President of the United States was the guy who makes that decision? I thought it was the president who takes info from many resources and then decides to with draw the troops. Isn’t it the president who tells us to get the heck out or stay? Maybe I’m reading this thing wrong?
Now the last line of McCain’s words makes me laugh! "But the key to it is that we don’t want any more Americans in harm’s way." Well if this is what your true stand is McCain, Then why are you so much desiring to stay in the war for 10-100 years? Or whatever it was you said? You keep changing your view on that too, so half of the time I don’t know what the heck you’re talking about. -
So far I have not found any answers to women’s issues by McCain. I don’t know why I have not found any. But I suspect that it is because McCain doses not give a hoot about Issues concerning women. Maybe I’m just looking in the wrong place? I’ll keep trying! If any of you find some things that McCain has addressed concerning women issues please post it in your response to this post. Let me know where to find some answers as to where he stands on women’s issues. But I did find some woman issues in Obama's politics. I feel sorry for the women who are completely un-aware of this fact that McLame has nothing representing the women in this country. He is nothing more then another one of those men who think all women belong in the Kitchen barefoot and pregnant!

• It always amazes me when people want to talk about McCain's friends. Do they really think we aren't going to bring up Obama's numerous friendship issues? I mean come on, Obama has got a load of friends that anyone could begin a lengthy discussion on. So let me begin w/ a few of my favorites. We all know about Rev Wright, you know anti-American, anti-White, anti-military, anti-Jew racist pal of Obama's? The one Obama wrote a book named after a sermon given by the racist Wright? Moving on, Rezko that would be his newly convicted criminal buddy/business partner. Speaking of shady business dealings having to do w/ the market, let's not forget Johnson. Who is he you ask? That would be the man Obama hired to vet perspective VP's. Wow, he sure picked a winner for that job. Johnson was involved in questionable housing dealings w/ country wide, yup, you guessed it the very same company Obama blasted HRC for having dealings w/. I guess the double standard w/ which Obama lives his life is not a concept he is familiar w/ So, oh, his wife, now she is nice lady, who also happens to share the views of their good buddy Rev Wright. For many that does not come as any surprise and to others well they would just rather ignore it and hope it goes away. However, Michelle doesn't seem like the kind of lady who knows when it would be best to keep her mouth shut. Just read her thesis and you will get to read all about how she feels about whites, lets just say she a less than favorable opinion of whites and her education. Now we move onto Obama's terrorist buddies. I am sure we all remember Ayers? The one who when interviewed on 9-11 was sad that he hadn't done enough damage to the U.S. back in his bombing days. He is also the one who introduced Obama to the public by hosting a party for him, how sweet. When asked about his relationship, Obama's P.R. people said they were "friendly." Then we have another memorable priest coming out of Obama's church, his name is Father Phleger. Obama helped him get money and Phleger donated to Obama's campaign, so yes, they are friends as well. I can't think of anymore off the top of my head, but please do not hesitate to add to the list, as I am sure more skeletons will be falling out of his rather full closet.
Now, as for McCain and this idiot who said something really horrible and stupid almost 20 years ago, not much to say about it. It is not like he spewed that horrible crap every Sunday in church for 20 years. Did the guy say these things all the time? Your own article said McCain wouldn't attend a fund raising event, what more do you want? They are not friends, they don't do business together, McCain didn't hire him to work for him, I don't see the point here. However, I do appreciate the opportunity it gave me to slam Obama and his friends and relationships. This sort of reminds of something my dad used to say, "you can't bring a knife to a gunfight." I believe that is what you just did.

it's like they have tunnel vision don't take it personally Elle, there just ignorant.

"It is not like he spewed that horrible crap every Sunday in church for 20 years."...i'm pretty sure that rev. wright did not say that stupid shit every sunday as your comments depict, or there would be plenty more tapes released to the media...it's not too hard to see where mccain stands on women & their issues for that matter, this is why he was able to freely call his wife the "c" word....my husband would never offend/demean me in such a way...but i'm pretty sure you feel this type of behavior is ok...i will say this, you want to apply this rule to obama in regards to his friends "birds of a feather flock together"..guess what? the same thing will have to be applied to mccain.....

-
does it really matter if he said it once or a hundred times its what he believes and he is so proud of it he says it in a sermon with all the clips and even that of a guest speaker spewing the same kind of hate I'd bet money Obama has herd similar sermons. He seems like the Rev Wright was a big influence in Obama's life, even named his book after one of his sermons. The ignorant comment above is a comment toward exactly this kind of thinking even if he was McCain and this was a white church saying the same things I'd be saying the same things this is a big deal specially since were expected to take this freshman senator at his word many of us for the first time, just recently herd about him. You can spin it anyway you want it will be McCain for me because that kind of hate is disgusting.
-
i love how you all love to throw around that McCain called Cindy the c-word, that is a rumor that has never been proven therefore it didn't happen. Good, I hope the birds of feather thing sticks around, your guy is so tainted by his dealings it is not even funny.

Yes, this video rocks...in pointing out the really salient reasons for voting Republican. Hell, it's a beautiful day in the neighborhood of you're pulling down $150,000 or so,...
-
I am voting Republican because I believe in the America our founding fathers envisioned and the Democratic nominee does not.
-
-
That is a stupid pointless reply.
-
I vote Republican because I'm a big boy now and can think for myself.
-
I'm not, because another term of the policies of George W. scares the crap out of me.
-
I feel the same about your Obama, guess where both just seeing what we want too.
