Obama's stand with Social Security
Now it has been said he will do away with SS. what moore is going to be taken away from the working middle class. Looks what we paid into SS will also be lost. The government should have to dish out to us what we paid in.
Had friends that vacationed in Russia, they are saying that the US economy will be destroyed in 5 years. What is this telling us now about the situation we are facing in the future? Better start thinking seriously who will most likely protect America? It won't be the Democrats, they have outsourced our job making China a world power of trade and oil they refuse to make new refineries making the arab countries and Venezuela prosperous from our needs at home. We better think seriously who we want as our next president b/c our future will be riding on it. I believe we are sitting on the eve of destruction.

I had heard he wants to cut social security. He can't win.

If the investments sour so does your retirement. No thank-you. I will invest my own retirement where I see doable but kepp the SS.

S.S. should be left the way it is. It is not fair to us who have put into it all these years. Obama has big radical plans that will totally destroy this country.

And what about our parents and grandparents. Should they just get off their duff and go back to workk? Who really needs retirement anyway?

Barack Obama's Plan
Protect Social Security
Obama is committed to ensuring Social Security is solvent and viable for the American people, now and in the future. Obama will be honest with the American people about the long-term solvency of Social Security and the ways we can address the shortfall. Obama will protect Social Security benefits for current and future beneficiaries alike. And he does not believe it is necessary or fair to hardworking seniors to raise the retirement age. Obama is strongly opposed to privatizing Social Security.
Obama believes that the first place to look for ways to strengthen Social Security is the payroll tax system. Currently, the Social Security payroll tax applies to only the first $97,500 a worker makes. Obama supports increasing the maximum amount of earnings covered by Social Security and he will work with Congress and the American people to choose a payroll tax reform package that will keep Social Security solvent for at least the next half century.
