Chapter 17

-The next day Connie keeps getting text after text from Katie apologizing. Connie doesn't answer any of them, and she doesn't want to talk to Kevin, who comes over with Nick in tow. Nick actually doesn't know why he came over, but he does know once he sees Becca sitting outside by herself.

-Kevin-Hey Becca.

-Becca-Hey Kevin...Connie's inside...but I don't know if she will talk to you.

-Kevin-Well I'm going to hope she does! *goes on inside, closing the door behind him. Nick stands there in front of Becca*

-Becca-Aren't you going inside?

-Nick-No. Look, I'm sorry about telling Joe, it just kind of came out.

-Becca-It's okay. Really. I'm kinda glad he knows...even if he doesn't want to talk to me.

-Nick-I just want to tell you that I want to be here for you. If Joe doesn't want to...

-Becca-Fine.

-Nick-Well, I was just wanting you to know. Do you know if you actually...are...?

-Becca-No. I bought a test....I was going to take it ....maybe now.

-Nick-You want me to wait?

-Becca-Sure. If you don't mind.

-So the two go inside and Becca goes upstairs and to her dresser and reaches into her top drawer and brings out the test. She stands and stares at it in her hand heart pounding. She hears Kevin and Connie talking in the room next to hers, well..Kevin trying to talk, but Connie isn't talking. Becca sighs, there are problems all around her, but right now she needs to focus on this problem. She goes back downstairs to find Nick standing against the wall, staring at the ceiling arms across his chest. He looks at Becca when she passes him to go into the bathroom.

-Nick-Good luck.

-Becca-*frowns*-Thanks.

-Kevin-Please Connie...just talk to me. Ok? I'm sorry that happened last night. I really am. It was just...it didn't mean anything. She is way too young for me...you know that.

-Connie-Yeah...but...

-Kevin-Please Connie...just forgive and forget....I like you...a lot and I don't know how to show you.

-Connie-You like me? Since when? *says sarcastically, but has to smile over at him. She notices how cute he looks...his dark curls perfect and his hazel eyes shining*

-Kevin-I thought you knew.

-Connie-I was kidding! Kevin!

-Kevin-Connie...are you actually going to talk to me now?

-Connie-I apologize. It was just a game...I just blew up and I'm really really really really really really really really really really reall...*Kevin stops her by leaning in and kissing her.*

-Becca meanwhile is finding out if the test is positive or negative. She and Nick are sitting outside the bathroom, barely talking. She waits for the kitchen timer to go off, when it does, she stands and goes back to the bathroom and picks up the test. Nick stands too and looks at her. Becca looks down at the test and sees....
