Confusion ..WHAT DID MICHELLE OBAMA MEAN??
The wife of Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama spoke Thursday night in New York City at a fundraising dinner for the Democratic National Committee's Gay and Lesbian Leadership Council.
She spoke about her husband's record pushing for workplace discrimination legislation in Illinois when he served in the Legislature there.
Barack Obama has said it should be up to individual states to decide whether to allow gay marriage. Michelle Obama says he wants equal treatment for any relationship recognized under state law.
this phrase...
"She spoke about her husband's record pushing for workplace discrimination legislation in Illinois when he served in the Legislature there."
is then explained when you read below that it was a bill that was put through by Senators Kennedy and Lewis, NOT OBAMA and 19 other senators are named as co-sponsors including Clinton and Obama
and this speech was addressed to the Gay and Lesbian Leadership Council and there was no mention of them in the statement below..everyone else.. but not gays or lesbians.. ?? So what was the point of her message.. ??
WASHINGTON, DC-- Today, Senator Edward M. Kennedy and Congressman John Lewis, along with more than a dozen Senate colleagues, introduced the Civil Rights Act of 2008, which will strengthen accountability when civil rights and workers' rights are violated.
Recent court decisions have weakened America's civil rights laws in ways that Congress never intended. This legislation will ensure accountability for violations of our civil rights and fair labor laws and give individuals the right to challenge practices that have unjustified discriminatory effect based on race, color, national origin, disability, age or gender. It also gives students the same protection from harassment in school that workers have on the job, and holds employers fully accountable for age discrimination and discrimination against our men and women in the armed services.
The Civil Rights Act of 2008 is co-sponsored by Senators Leahy, Dodd, Lautenberg, Bingaman, Kerry, Harkin, Mikulski, Akaka, Boxer, Feingold, Murray, Durbin, Schumer, Cantwell, Clinton, Obama, Menendez, Cardin, and Brown.

Hi Shelvis.. I think he previously said that he did not support gay and lesbians in the marriage aspect at least.. my problem was that she referred to legislation that completely left out gays and lesbians.. so what was her point?? If that was supposed to be a guideline of what he could do for gays then it was nothing..so why refer to it??

shes an idiot thats why!
