And I found it today, thought I'd post it and see what sort of response it gets lol :) Now, I'm not a political science major, nor do I hold any degrees in this field, I'm just a concerned citizen who is sick and tired of feeling shit upon by our government. (please pardon my language-but any other wording would be an understatement) Several things have been drawn to my attention more and more lately as I become more deeply involved in my quest to become more politically informed. This quest has included reading many books, watching several documentaries, and most of all, reading up on our candidates and paying close attention to their speeches. CNN has become one of my closest friends (sad, I know.) Tonight, I have quite possibly reached my capacity for bullshit. With that being said, I needed to rant. So here it is, my 3 am blog. Enjoy! I have a hard time understanding, how in America, we're quick to use the new innovations other countries create-cars, computer programs, fancy wines etc, yet we while we can clearly see their government systems are run more proficiently, we can't seem to adopt their ways. It, of course, would be un-American, antipatriotic so to speak. In America, anything different, is bad. We're run by money-hungry, self centered government officials who only care about the profits they can make and not what is in the best interest of the citizens of our country. Why else would our President allow the healthcare industry, pharmaceutical companies, and Halliburton-KBR to rob us blind? Oh that's right, because they've written nice fat pay offs to our government at the cost of our lives. The government is dead set on making us believe that universal health care would be the death of our economy. If this is so, how come it runs so smoothly for other countries? In Canada, France, Britain, Cuba, Qatar, and numerous other countries the citizens are given free-universal-healthcare. This means, when you get sick, you go to the doctor, and he treats you, no matter what. There is no HMO to get approval from, no set of requirements for treatment, you are sick-you get treated. It seems to me, that this should be MANDATORY for ALL humans. Too many people are forced each day to choose between keeping food on the table to feed their 3 healthy children or putting that money towards keeping their 1 sick child alive. Too many people are being forced to work until they are 87 years old because they can't afford their medicine on their small social security checks. Too many people are being dumped off at homeless shelters because they can't afford to pay for the treatment their insurance is denying and they are too sick to be formally released. Even if by some miracle the insurance company can't find a way to deny you, you still have to come up with a way to pay for the overpriced medication you could get in Britain for $10 (flat rate), France for free, or Cuba for a mere 5 cents. Why do we pay so much? Oh, right, because the pharmaceutical industry donated money to President Bush's campaign and he signed a nifty little bill into congress that allows the industry to regulate its own prices. That makes about as much sense as that bill that allows Congress to pass their own pay raises. In any other job, you'd have to answer to your boss to get a raise. So lets think. Congress works for us, the people. So really, we should be voting for their raises. But I'm getting ahead of myself again. So, not only do we not receive the best possible healthcare or affordable medicine, we also don't receive the best possibly treatment for our soldiers. You know, the men and women who are overseas risking their lives so Mr. Chaney and the CEO of Halliburton can gross $3 Billion a year? Our government is turning their heads as Halliburton overcharges them for their "services" in Iraq-because its being paid for by you and me. Our tax dollars are going to basically kill our loved ones. Halliburton is more concerned with making money than keeping our boys (and girls) safe. Each day, in Iraq, you can eat at one of 4 designated times. The breakfast hour, the lunch hour, the dinner hour, and the late dinner hour. The insurgents know these times, which explains why chow halls are often targets. But instead of going to a 24 hour feeding schedule that would be cheaper AND allow our soldiers to eat whenever they wanted, thus reducing lines and allowing them more time to rest before their next 18 hour shift, and reducing the availability of a guaranteed large group of soldiers for target practice-Halliburton would rather charge a little more to keep things the way they are. And yet this is only the beginning of many grievances I have with this company. I'll save that for another time, another rant. What kind of country is this? A country where CEOs of big business and members of congress spends massive amounts of money on pricey SUVs, formal gatherings, and blatant bribery with our tax dollars instead of putting it to use in a way to serve us. That's their job right? To serve us. To make decisions based on the needs of our country and take care of us. I don't see how you driving an H3 is helping me Mr. Senator. If we can find the money to go to war, we can find the money to send to Africa to help with the aids epidemic, we can find the money to pay for Congress's personal spending habits, why can't we find the money to take care of the citizen's of our country? The way I see it is this: Our government is so corrupt that it is going to be a very very long time until we see any form of improvement. So we have two options. 1) We revolt. Start an uprising and overthrow our government, after all it IS our constitutional right to do so. 2) We all move to Canada. Its beautiful there-low crime rates-universal healthcare-accessible retirement-significantly higher life expectancy.

I'm so sick of everyone saying they won't vote for Obama because he's "muslim". Well, correction people. He was raised with muslim roots. He moved to Indonesia when he was 6, and went to a muslim school. What are the chances of that? Moving to a predominantly muslim area and attending a muslim school? Probably the same as moving to America and attending a public school. Obama is a Christian, with Muslim roots. As people grow and mature, and study religion, they make changes. They convert, its part of what America was founded upon-freedom of religion. The freedom to make decisions that best fit you and your beliefs. Are we really going to condemn him for what he studied as a child? Even if he were a muslim, there is nothing in the consititution that says a muslim can't be president. This wasn't an issue when he was running for the senate was it? So why is it a big deal now? AND for the record--Being muslim does not automatically make you a terrorist. The muslims aren't all out to get us, its the EXTREMISTS. There are extremists in every religion. If you're going to call all muslims terrorists, you have to call all Christian's terrorists too, because there are Christian extremists who bomb abortion clinics, protest military funerals, and do just as many extreme things as muslim extremists do. But the whole point of my blog was to address the email that I have recieved time and time again. It states that Obama is the antichrist and will destroy our country. It also lists a number of "facts" about Obama and states that the email has been verfied by snopes.com. Well, here it is-from snopes.com: http://www. snopes. com/politics/obama/muslim. asp "One version of the email in circulation claims: 'This was checked out on snopes. com, it is factual. Check for yourself.' and includes a link to the website. It's our guess that whoever included that bit was counting on folks to not check as our article says the opposite-that the polemic is not factual but rather is false." C'mon guys, with all the mudslinging and trashtalking going on with this year's election, it would seem like common sense to me to check these things out before passing it on, 90% of those emails are total crap.
