Bush sr. in my mind was a pill that the country so desperately needed at a time when we needed someone in office to take charge and rebuild a system and country that had seen years of instability. The Regan admistration was rebuilding from ground up policys and the continuation of that through Bush sr. did in fact in retrospect do alot of good in taming the wild fluxiations in the economy home and abroad. Then during the Dole/Clinton campaign Bob Dole was obiviously not the right person for the job of leader of the free world and the real possibility of an independant cannidate through the madman of H. Ross Perot was coming to light with promises of an advanced economic platform seed seemed like a real possibility... I was a dumb kid then and worked on his campaign... Then he dropped out and I flung my vote to the wind. Bill Clinton won the election and I remember thinking who is this redneck and what is he doing in the oval office.... I did not like Bill Clinton until I was out of college and working for a lobbyist as a junior asscoiate of a prestigious Arlington lobbyist. Soon enough over the next few years I had seen real benifits in my job from public affairs advocacy policys instituted by Bill J. I had been working with a lobbying firm at the time in Arlington and pushing various senators for military assistance in Kosovo but getting no response but a handful of lower level cabnet members and a few state senators. At a meeting in a restarunt I met a man who claimed he had an in with Senator R. Lugar, whom I had almost been enemys due to the constant avoidance of another issue I had been involved with. Sen. Lugar had intruduced to me to mr. Clinton at a Princeton club fundraiser. I was shocked that a mere junior member of a lobbying agency would have the oppurtunity meet the president... So, the president lent me have most of his time at the occasion and let me speak my cause... I was shuttering with nerviousness and at first could barely speak in a coheasive sentence. Bill "he said to call him" stopped me and told me the story of when he first met prez. Ford and how nervous he was that he spilled his drink all over him. The man was harilous. He calmed me down and listened my ploy very very intently asking me questions to which he didd'nt know about the conflicts ongoing in Kosovo. He gave me a name of a senior offical in the D.O.D. and told me to contact him the next day... Four weeks later I spoke in front of a joint congress session to allocate moneys needed for the operation which passed. I was appointed the press lesion to the U.N. working directly with the Clinton adm. Soon after the operations ceased I was working from special appointment in the D.O.J. as a press lesion under Clinton. I was an offically a converted democrat. At the time my seniority granted me an administrative position on Bushs Justice department staff. I worked for five years in the justice department under George jr., until four years ago when George jr. cleaned house of anyone who had ties to any democrat agency. Without regard I had been shafted by a cronie of his with no expierence and very little education... Since then I've all but given up any and all ties to the republican party and feel that the Bush administration to clearly be the most corrupt presidency in US history and that the republican party is corrupt beyond any and all repair. The values of a government of the people have been replaced by an authoritarian government of George Bush for George Bush by George Bush. I am convinced that the next president George bush 3 will continue George jr. legecy.... of corruption, decipt and fraud When Bush first moved into the white house, I was a somewhat supporter... I, at the time believed he would be the same pill of national security thet his pops was... especally post 911, when Bush went into afganistan... I remember giving him my full support with the hope that he would finally do something to oust the taleban, for during my college years I had raised money for ammnisty international and I spoke in front of the Princeton club on the horrors of the taleban in 2000 which was in fact was on the possibility of terriorst encampments in the northern hills. During my first years in the DOJ, you could really notice a vast change in the policys. While under the Clinton adm. there was a sence if transperancy and working for the people and decisions were based on the merit... When the Bush adm. took over decisions were based on administration official policy... And my boss was not J. Walker my supervisor but Karl Rove, Bushes puppeteer... I do not believe for second that G.W. drew up the policys that Rove implemented in the agency. I really do not believe him that coniveing in terms of the incedents of obiviously slanted injustice that transpired after the installment of A. Gonzelas (google: Alberto Gonzales/Karl Rove and DOJ probe) I am set to speak in Wa. at a hearing in september. I once stood a republican and granted the reason for my switch of partys initally was possibly due to the hypnotic gaze of hillbillyBill... The injustice done to me personally and my more moderate co workers truly make me feel that this is the least transparent most corrupt administration in history and is in fact NOT of the pepole but exclusivly for the executive in charge, and ALLof the recent allegations of corruption points to a more sinister charge of complete corruption of the entire republican party that I've heald dear for many years. I have been promised my job along with all the seniority granted to me by my merit.... as opposed to the (unqualified)cronie who was granted a position based on nothing more than 6 months of public service and who in fact his only qualifacation was that he worked on the Bush campaign in 04'. As far as the cause of 9-11 with all of the corruption in the DOJ I really do not doubt the prez. is as clean.... Really to fire 200 members of the agency just when an investigation of corruption was about to transpire and then the investigation halted... Yea SOMETHING not just is going on here. And if and when I am reinstated I will personally push Obama to investigate not only the Gonzeles/Rove connection but George himself.... So few members of his party on the hill have any good words to say about Bush, It's a wonder that McCain who posed anti-Bush policy who I also fundraised bills for (McCain/Fiengold campaign reform act ) could allis himself with is repugnant and shows how deep the republican party has sunk into the decipt. Yea, I still would be republican if the party platform had not became the party of decipt. Since leaving my government position I've decided to follow my dreams of writing for television and persunig stand-up comedy and acting. I have since moved far far from washington and now live on a ranch in the country raising sheep, bovine and collecting odd pets. And if our next president is not of the Bush seed I might even consider returning to my promised position in the United States justice department I can tell you how I became republican... But the story of why I'm no longer a republican is more telling.... 2008-06-28T07:16:40Z TripMarz555 The Holy Lord Hypnotoad.... This coming from a die hard lib. I wanted to send G.W. a letter of thanks.....about time! Then he got greedy now what do we have.... the growing hate of the west, due to only one thing...... Iraq. When his daddy kicked the ass of Sadams mingion, I was on the front lines of his cheering squad, and when he pulled out I was first to boo him. War does work, if it were'nt for the "evil" Nepolian we would still be stuck in the catholic induced dark ages. I am a lib who agrees that islamofacism is one of the worst atrocitys in the history of humanity and must be stopped! But lil' George is not his daddy.... Maybe if he appointed members of his regime based on their merit and not on favors for favors...... We would have had a better grip on the insuing mess and the issues they face, that will not end for many...many years. Nobody will solve the problems in the middle east until we can tame a violent society....... violence begats violence there will always be religous based facism and terriorists..... How can we have peace when all the talk is of war? A full on pull out of Iraq will not happen in our lifetimes..... Peace will only occur occur when their and our sanity returns. Now who is the cannidate for "world leader" who can acheive this goal? peace or war..... it really is your choice, vote wisely because war really does affect us all. What does that tell you about him and his views of race in America? Why did it matter to him that he was brand spanking new to Congress when he denied MLK his rightful day of celebration? He brings up Goldwater in 64 as some sort of wingnut justification. Well, he had almost twenty years to think about it by then and he still voted against MLK day. McCain makes a very insencere apology for not recognizing MLK day http://abcnews.go.com/Video/playerIndex?id=4591612 McCain's push to cozy up to far right extremists is not surprising, given his contradictions in the past.
