Recently, Marines in Iraq wrote to Starbucks because they wanted to let them know how much they liked their coffee and to request that they send some of it to the troops there. Starbucks replied, telling the Marines thanks for their support of their business, but that Starbucks does not support the war, nor anyone in it, and that they would not send the troops their brand of coffee.
Maybe we should not support them by buying any of their products! I know this war might not be very popular with some folks, but that doesn't mean we shouldn't support the boys on the ground fighting street to street and house to house. Since when has it become cool for a business to take such a controversial political stand such as this?!

Starbucks had stores on several military bases in the United States, taking in lots of money from the boys. They are now being removed because of this! Go get 'em, America! Stand up for our military.

Correction?
On investigating this report at Starbucks - rumor response, I find this to be a rumor circulated back in 2004 and a letter of correction was sent out by Marine Sgt. Howard C. Wright, 1st Force Recon Co., 1st Plt PLT RTO. According to Starbucks, he has apologized for being hasty. You can Google Starbucks, go to rumor response, and decide for yourself what the truth of the matter is.

Starbucks says: "Starbucks, our customers, and our partners (employees) respect the efforts of the U.S. men and women who serve their country in the military. Starbucks and its partners have consistantly demonstrated their support of military personnel in a number of ways."

Perhaps my knee-jerk reaction to this rumor was too hasty and we should give Starbucks the benifit of the doubt. I appologize.

Frances Rice, chairman of the National Black Republican Association, describes the Democratic Party as the architect of modern day racism.

She says it was Republicans who pushed through much of the ground-breaking civil rights legislation in Congress. Now, she says, Republicans stand for empowering blacks to help them out of poverty. In contrast, Rice says, the Democrats push to keep blacks dependant on government handouts and encourage them to see themselves as victims.

"The Democratic Party has built its power base on the backs of poor blacks, and they want to keep blacks poor, angry, and voting for Democrats. Every election cycle they go into the black community and preach hatred against the Republican Party and get blacks to cast a protest vote against Republicans."

In Rice's view, "The Democrats fight every effort of Republicans to get blacks out of poverty because they know that once blacks become prosperous, the Democratic Party will lose its power base."

"Our philosophy in the Republican Party is to teach a person how to fish, so that he can feed himself for a lifetime, whereas the Democratic Party's philosophy is give a man a fish, so he can eat for a day," Rice says.

Why would a black Muslim say that about Obama? Would Obama change the US to make it better for black Muslims? America is going to hell in a handbasket and the so called "secular progressives" are greasing the rails! Do you believe what's going on in Berkeley, CA and Toledo, Ohio?!!! These people call themselves Americans and can tell a branch of the United States Military they are not welcome in their town? They are telling the Marine Recruiters they are not allowed to park on the streets! Anyone else can though. Conduct such as this is outrageous! I support Senator De Mint's bill, Semper Fi of 2008, that the Federal Government withhold the $2 million dollars earmarked for Berkeley and give it to the Marine Corp. Where is Obama and Hillary in all this?!!! Do they condone these un-American acts? I've not heard them say one word against Berkeley's conduct, have you? I'm amazed when people tell me that Democrats are fighting for the poor in America! What a bunch of bull that is! Democrats are KEEPING people poor by higher and higher taxes they will have to pay to fund the Democrat's big government entitlement programs which only enable the poor to remain poor.
Let me explain my thoughts. The ruling elite NEED poor people to carry the water and chop the wood, so to speak. They tax your wages till you barely have enough to live on, then say "That's alright, we'll give you some of it back to you (if you qualify) with food stamps, wellfare, socialized medicine, etc. It's all right if you're poor. Big brother Government will look after and give you what you need so stay poor. It's okay."
Conservative Republicans on the other hand try to help the poor out of the rut they're in by cutting taxes, reducing big government and trying to increase the number of jobs available to you so you can not be poor any longer. They try to stop wasteful government spending - for you.
