Goverment in our lives

I would like to know when it became okay that the goverment has the right to tell us how we are suppose to live. What we can eat if we can smoke or drink what we can do in our own homes. I thought we had laws to protect us from the goverment coming into our homes.

Economic Stimulus Package

I think this stimulus package is more for China then for America...look at this article on the stimulus package: Mr. Bush Boosting Our Economy? I think now I love that video on what Huckabee said on the matter. It is rediculous that we can not think of better ways to stimulate the economy than this...and we are spending our time governing over baseball..? something is wrong. what do you think of Huckabee's plan from that video?

On Banning the Moderator / Owner

I find I've been banned by one of the members. For personal reasons, it's been sometime since I have been on SodaHead frequently. I should be able to be more active soon and as - There are many groups of this type so I am going to ask they quit and join another. I have no idea how to moderate a group with a member who has blocked me. Obviously they know who they are. This is not up for vote or discussion I'm sorry as I find this will simply bind things up. Thanks for all your time Cat

    Michael......I can not answer for anyone else in this group nor will I take sides on these things in this group. Unless someone just gets obscene. NOW on a poll we can fight it out like a cat and dog. Perhaps if they are a member of this group they will answer your question. They can't ban you here.

    If all side are welcome than why are people who ask reasonable questions being blocked? I expressed myself in a respectful manner and DrT blocked me for asking him and pointing out he's being one sided? How can he claim to be open to talk when he shuts down anyone who's not on the same page as he is? I call it being a coward... maybe that's why he resides on a island.

    When I anwered the question yesturday on who I would vote for president I voted for none of the above. While I still hold firm to my answer(at least for now) I believe I gave the wrong idea when I said that I lost faith in the America government....this does not mean that I don't have love for my country...when you consider all the fighting, all the wars(big or small) and all the senceless killing of innocent children and adults we are truly blessed to live in America. Did you know that there are places in the world where people's tounges are cut out of their mouths simply because they talked down about their government? this is fact..
    Anyways back on track? Did anyone see Good Morning America the other day when they had interviewed former pres. Clinton? I had to chuckle and shake my head when he stated that anyone could run for president providing they meet certain guidelines like being 35yrs of age(I think that's the age you have to be) and being a born US citizen. I wonder just how far the Ave american would get with little or no money? like the factory worker, the guy working in the mines or the farmer that fills our veggi needs. I bet these folks wouldn't get within two feet of the white house grounds. I believe that we need to step away from all of the political games and get back to the strength and wisdom that the founding father's had when they formed this nation. It's sadding to me when I think how far out of touch our government is. The suits in office now has no clue as to how the real americans live. They don't know how it feels to have to decide on which to pay first Rent or power. Gas for the car to go back and forth to work or buy groceries.
    And look at the seniors. Here they have worked hard all their lives (some of them anyway) yet now since many of them are no longer able to work they are pushed aside as if they no longer matter since they no longer pay taxes .
    I guess what I'm trying to say is it doesn't matter if your demicat or republican we are ALL in the same boat..We are ALL paying the same amount at the pump. We ALL want the same thing we just have differant ideas on how to get there(not one idea is right or wrong). The dission that we make at the polls will decide the future of ALL of us..This is why its very important to do your homework on both canidates then make your dission based on what you believe to be true in your heart.
    I personally don't care the color of skin as long as this person is someone who's words are honest Now I don't want to seperate the two but just as white americans there are plenty of intelligant black americans. If in the future there were a black man/woman running for present and I found him/her to one who was sincere and one who would follow through with their promises, you bet I would vote for them in a heartbeat.
    Well thats all for now, I am looking forward to sharing differant views
    and sorry for the long post. It's just that I've wanted to say this for a very long time I just didn't have a place to go where my little voice would be heard.
