Answered Yes you should be able to shoot them
If your life is in danger or the lives of your family is in danger, then yes.
But just remember, use a shot gun and not a pistol. A shotgun has a wider range of bullet spray and a pistol has a single shot that might hit the neighbor!!! =0) -

You have the right to protect yourself and your family!!!
I just hope that I am never in this situation because as much as I believe it is my right to protect myself, I don't know if I'd be able to pull the trigger. -

i was raised on a farm , and have been a hunter/ shooter beginning at a very young age. i would not hesitate, and i dont miss... ive shot deer at a full run, down hill through the trees at 75 yards, rest assured anyone running away after threatening my family or property wont live to brag about it... i wont miss.....my biggest decision is where to shoot them , based upon the size of the person, and shot placement, depending if i want to kill, just blow an arm or leg off, or place a high or low shot to produce a parapalegic or quadrapalegic. this decision will take me a fraction of a second, and i dont miss..... -

In Texas we have the right to defend home and property. The weapons in my home are loaded and ready. Too often witless people are unable to take defensive measures due to an unloaded weapon. If you wound the criminal, they can sue you. If you take em' out it's one sheet of paper for the coroner. -
Answered Undecided
i think there are alot of things that could happen in this situation that could change everything. like if the person is unarmed i don't think it should be legal. but is theres someone in your house stealing stuff and he's armed and he's running away or in your house and won't stop when you yell, then yes, i think you should be able to.
i mean he's in your house stealing stuff------that is wrong, its a crime, they shouldn 't be in there in the first place.
but i think that if that happened, you shouldn't try to shoot to kill. you should just try and wound the person and get them to stop. then he would get the proper jail punishment, instead of killing him.
but in self defense and if he's armed, then yes. -

Answered Yes you should be able to shoot them
Bottom line I would say yes. I'd like to see some kind of certain proof that there was a threat other than someone tracking mud on your carpet and I'd like to think that people would use some other way of subduing the guy but I do believe in being able to protect your home.
Not someone else's home though, that just makes you a murderer. -
