One of my close friends was born there, raised there, and currently lives there even though he has dual citizenship...why does he? Because he prefers it there.

My priorities are different than this current government's; as I actually care about it's citizens, and want everyone to share in the equal rights that we are born with.

An Islamic state? Wow. I see so many errors with that it isn't even funny.

"You folks"? You sir, have no idea who I am, so I would gladly ask you not to lump me into any group whatsoever.

I am not sure how a foreign born person is a citizen but let's put that aside.

If he wants to live in Sweden, good for him! Some people prefer the gilded cage. I won't go to Sweden and force them to live as I see fit, and I hope he doesn't try to change the laws here.

You don't understand dual citizenship? Look it up and you'll see what it is, and how it's done.
  • raves +1   [-] by Art
Actually sir, I do see how it is done and as a person who has dual-citizenship I think I might actually know the law better than you.

Maybe, maybe not but that is not really the point, is it?

If your friend thinks Sweden is wonderful, then good for him! I won't change Swedish law and Swedes can keep their hands off mine.

Then you can understand how a Swede can be a citizen of both nations. That's all.

That wasn't really the point of even bringing up Sweden...the point was your believing that Sweden is "dying" due in part to gay marriages. Which isn't even a valid point as Sweden doesn't have legal gay marriage, only Civil Unions.

    >the point was your believing that Sweden is "dying" due in part to gay marriages.

    No, let me be clear.

Changing the definition of marriage is harming the institution of marriage and that is contributing to the death of Sweden as a nation.

Either way, gay marriage will be banned in Sweden's future...whether by social conservatives through democracy, reason and persuasion or by jihad.

I actually was raised in Sweden, I moved to the states when I was 11. How is Sweden dying?

I understand that the birth rate has declined, but I thought that was generational in most modern developed countries...considering the change in the social atmosphere when it comes to birth control, women having careers, the "nuclear" family, etc.
  • raves +1   [-] by Art
Yes and the redefinition of marriage is one giant push in the downward spiral of Swedish decline.

Regions such as Malmo contain non-Islamic no go zones where attacks against non-Muslims are common.

Given brith rates of Muslims compared to non-Muslims, Sweden will be a majority Islamic state in a few decades.

The Sweden you know and that has existed for centuries is dying, soon to be replaced by something very different.

Same sex marriage will be banned in Sweden this century but you will find the penalty much more harsh.

    I seriously doubt that.

Never underestimate a pissed off mass of Scadinavians.

There was a time when their ancestors were the terror of the inhabitants of the British Isles and the European mainland.

There was a time when Nordic sailors ventured as far as North America (before Columbus).

    That time has passed.

Scandinavian populations are in free-fall. Their sense of nationalism evaporated years ago and they do not have the courage to stand up against a rising Muslim tide:

sure why not the world is going to shit anyhow...I am against it, only because of my religious beliefs and upbringing... I wouldnt want my children to be Gay, nor would I ever encourage that either.
  • raves +3   [-] by Don - K.M.R.I.A.
One thing though: how does a gay couple getting married have anything to do with your children?
  • raves +1   [-] by ibiza

High incidence of teen suicide comes from gay/lesbian teens that are terrified of their parents finding out. As a parent you should be open minded - you never know if your child is gay/lesbian or what depression they suffer if they are and you appear to them to be homophobic.

    A fundamentalist conservative christian.

Thanks Buiscuits, I guess a fundy is pretty much what I am. I apologize for any rude language you may have experienced at your celebration. That sort of thing is just not generally necessary. - Gay marriage is not Godly. Gay marriage does not establish a pair of 'natural' parents. Gay marriage establishes political / social legitimacy where none is warrented. - I guess those are some reasons. I wish you well. M in AZ

    Answered Yes.

It is just my belief that a marriage is between a man and a woman. My belief coming from Bible and growing in the church. It's not that we hate people who do it we just do not agree with it and believe it is not right. It is a sin. We don't like the sin not the person.
  • raves     [-] by ibiza
Your beliefs are yours only - they should not be forced onto anyone else. That is why it is called a "belief" - because it is not necessarily a fact, and is actually unlikely to be factual.
  • raves     [-] by NO MCCAIN!
My belief is my choice. The Bible is True and the truth shall set you free. I have no hate in my heart for those of this lifestyle however I do not agree. Two men can not have babies nor can two woman. God did not design it this way. You have to ask yourself why?
I think people give in to lustful desires and explore but it is sinful. It's like having no control over your body. It's like have numerous partner's and adultery. It is a sin and sin brings all sorts of unhealthy illnesses to the body. You have to ask yourself why? Why an illness of that sort does not affect a man and a woman's union? I'm trying to be nice at the same time I stand my position.
