Did Miley Cyrus with her song "Rockstar" rip off Lustra's song "Scotty Doesn't Know"?
Listen to Lustra's "Scotty Doesn't Know" and then listen to Miley Cyrus' song "Rockstar." See if you notice any similarities between the two songs, keeping in mind that Lustra's version came first. Did Miley Cyrus aka Hannah Montana rip off Lustra's music? *The first answer choice is Lustra's "Scotty Doesn't Know," and the second is Miley Cyrus' "Rockstar."

I AM NOT BASHING OR APPLAUDING ANYONE. I AM TAKING NO SIDES. I just want to say:
I played the 2 songs together & they sound the same. But this is a common thing in music. U Can't Touch This by MC Hammer has the same beats as Super Freak by Rick James, not to mention about 2-3 other songs that also used this sound. So woop-de-doo. She did the same thing as others have done before her but it matters because she is only 16, sells out every concert and her dad used to be a country music star. Who cares?! It's called music! Should we start a list of all the songs that have been made up of a different song's music, beat and/or lyrics? That would be one huge list. Seriously people. This is nothing new so stop blowing it up to be something big and bad that it's not. Either enjoy the music or listen to something else. -

The two songs DO sound almost perfectly alike, but it's not Miley's fault. She doesn't write Hannah's songs. So even though it's not enough alike to be called a rip-off, if someone gets in trouble, it should be the people who wrote the song. MILEY DIDN'T DO ANYTHING WRONG!!!! -

I'm only picking this because it's possible that Miley could've asked Lustra if she could use the riff. All she has to do is put in a written out form asking the band if she is liable to use the riff. Lots of stars do that.... Otherwise she could go to jail for stealing a copywrited rif.

What NO ONE seems to know (If you knew ANYTHING about Miley, you would know this), she DID NOT WRITE THAT SONG! The song Rockstar is a song written for the character Hannah Montana and was put on a Hannah Montana album. I don't particularly like Miley or Hannah but ignorance just annoys the HECK out of me. Songwriters for the show write the Hannah Monatana songs. Miley has nothing to do with them until they are sheet music in front of her and she is learning and performing them. She has nothing to do with the songwriting process of Hannah Montana songs, she only writes the Miley songs (which Rockstar is not).
