Depends on which snake.......and it's maybe not so much a fear as a great respect for the fact that certain snakes can kill you...........

I have seen one on my cellar steps and I just step over it and keep doing my business. Last time my husband had been in the cellar he about shot the place up due to seeing a snake.

No, I had pet snakes as a kid, & they always seemed to disappear! I don't care for aggressive poisonous snakes, but I respect them.

Those are pretty snakes too. If I hadn't managed to find my milksnake (the same family as kings), I'd have gotten a California king.

I have been to Jersey but never lived there. I was born and raised in Massachusetts and now live right over the border in New Hampshire.
