It all starts with the family. We no longer know how to raise our kids, and discipline has become a dirty word. Beyond that (really, it's an extension) is the decline of our public school system. The public system has lost its sense of values, mission, and - like parents - can no longer discipline it's kids. Those two factors make the roots rotten, so all of the other stuff that we can point to is at least chiefly supported by these two. Societal values, government, and more are all collapsing in one way or another, and it would take a long treatise by me to list all that I think is wrong. -
Thanks, Gracie. This is one of my pet peeve areas, and I could go on forever about it, chapter, verse, and detail. But I usually save my breath. Those who would be interested in what I would have to rant already agree, anyway, and those who don't agree wouldn't want to listen.
To be king for a day... ;-) -

Our nation is one of such wealth, promise and fairness that it breeds lazy, jealous malcontents. They sit and stare into the abundance mirror wondering why they fail. They look for the faults of others and then create wrong just prove how rightly they think.
They refer to “simple truths” proving Americans are ignorant, bigoted and even bloodthirsty. Yet, their freshman indoctrination back at entry college is too rigid for reason to penetrate. I remember my first year or so when professors were hell bent on revising every piece of history I’d ever heard. They made my heroes into villains for no reason but to be iconoclastic. They had to destroy tradition to promote radicalism.
They negatively portrayed everything this country did from the Revolutionary War (rich folks refusing to pay taxes) to Vietnam (weapons production). There was no saving grace! There was no hope except Marxist Revolution. See Chomsky. They are stuck there in the world of the communist ideal. It’s as if they never go to the other side of the library, that part that proves them “not right.”
Anyway, what’s wrong with America are these people destroying us from within. Their vast intellect is thinking a circular logic where there are no solutions, just problems and an establishment to blame. But tear this one down and unless they’re in power in the next, they’ll tear it down too.

Happily, these people are in the minority and their point of view is so depressing that their chances of getting any real power is slim. Unless, obviously, enough of them get Federal Judgeships.(less) -

I blame the parents of todays youth that have turned parenting over to other people because they don't want to be bothered. Children need to know there are consequences to their actions. Parents need to teach their kids right from wrong and stop trying to be their friends. -

We the people have gone to sleep and let the liberal courts make laws against the will of the people and said nothing. We the people will let our voice be silent when it is a time that calls for us to declare what is a terrible wrong is being done. We the people will vote for people that do not support our belief because we only think of our pockets and not our morals. -

First, I blame Bush for both his bankrupt tax policies, his kowtowing to insurance companies instead of dealing with health, and for his pre-emptive war with Iraq. Rarely have American presidents turned their backs on the values of this country and engaged in such an illegal activity as this war. Bush is solely to blame for that.
But there are others responsible for things awry with the country, too:
Partly the educational system in several parts of the country is to blame for not really preparing our young people for the 21st century. If you visit many classrooms in my region (central North Carolina) the classes are still preparing people for an economy that longer exists. The schools have to work smarter and more proactively than reactively.
The media and our consumer-based culture is also to blame for some of our ills. Young people are NOT trained to be critical readers and thinkers, but they ARE trained to buy & use--then buy some more. If we really want to have an economy that is world class--this practice has to change. -

The liberals of course. They want take all PERSONAL RESPONSIBILITY out of life. Political correctness is a big problem due to liberals also. I wont even go into taking God out of everything(liberals). Do people hate Jesus more today then they did when they nailed him to the cross?
