How do you feel about Gay Marriage being legal in the USA?

Some may think it's all about having a choice , equality for all , Some may have religious issues regarding it? It could be prove to be an historical event in our history , other countries already allow for gay marriage. What do think of the subject?

Answered I think it all about ...

being equal and having a choice. Personally I wouldn't do it .... But at least if it was available I would have that option --I would rather just have a commitment ceremony and pledge my love to that special person .

I feel that in this country we have separation of church and state. With that, I think the religious issues are moot so far as what the country is doing. AS far as marriage goes, I'm against it for straight people, so I should feel the same way for gay people too. I guess! LOL However, for me it's simply an issue of equal rights for all. If marriage exists and opposite sexes can marry, then the same must hold true for same sex marriages.

It's about time. I am not gay and I have read countless comments from other straight people on here. A lot of them seem to think that as straight people it doesn't affect our lives. I disagree, I think it has made America, by one tiny step, just a little more civilised and fair. We are that little bit closer to being the society we really could be, where freedom and individuality are things we love and cherish, not just things Fox News uses to bash anyone who disagrees with them. Good luck to all the gay couples who were married this last week.

    Answered My opinion is ......

I'm not gay so it does not impact me in any way to change the law. But it does not impact my life if it is allowed either. I don't really care who someone else chooses to live their life with and who they love. I don't care if two straight or gay people make that choice. It should not matter to other people. This to me is a basic choice and if your orientation is gay to say no you can't get married seems just wrong if you allow so many idiots to marry who are divorced in six months. With all the issues facing the government right now this one should not even be one in the governments perview to allow or forbid. We have a war on two fronts, an economy in chaos, an energy crisis we can't touch, unemployment is spiking again, the dollar is losing value daily and what are our esteemed leaders concerned about? Gay marriage! Give me a freaking break. Let them live their lives with equal rights. Don't discriminate based on sexual orientation and that is just what this is about is discrimination based on sexual orientation dressed up as religious when our country is supposed to have a seperation of Church and State.

I agree with Wanda Sykes: If you don't believe in same sex marriage then don't marry someone of the same sex. It's that simple. Two men or two women marrying doesn't really change how I live my life, and it certainly doesn't diminish the marriages of anyone. If it diminishes yours, then it probably wasn't that good in the first place. I just can't figure out why it bothers people. I just can't muster that much hate, especially about people celebrating love.

....you love who you love and who are we to tell someone they can't marry the one they love. It may be right, it may be wrong, but it's not for us to decide that for someone else. We have to do what feels right to ourselves and if that is gay marriage and the gay lifestyle, then that's what you should do. Be true to yourself and your beliefs.....but above all be HAPPY!

    Answered I feel ......

That is apart of someone rights to be able to marry someone of the same sex. There are alot of things that go against certain religions, and we don't neccasarily take that to heart, so why should we now? If two people want to proclaim there love to the world, then let them. I'm all for it

    confused.

My religion has taught me it's wrong. Society has taught me it's wrong but is now changing it's mind about it. My husband and I had a discussion about it this morning at breakfast.

My religion also teaches me to be kind to all people. I struggle with this question and answer...

It's a about time it happens!!! Canada has not fallen apart, because of our legalization of same-sex marriage, years ago.

I don't understand, how people feel, it will affect their own lives, when they are against it. What is it going to do to you?
  • raves +4   [-] by Jimmy O. No You Didn't!
You'd be truly shocked to know that gazzillions of people in the United States have no idea that same-sex marriage is leal in Canada..........so close to home! In the US, when the powers that be don't want you to know something, you just don't know it! Amazing.
  • raves +4   [-] by Spaneol Tap
I've heard this from others...that they had no idea, it was legal here. Propaganda...
