    i think they could have been punk at one time maby when they were not that well known
    just like the old afi but just like most pop punk bands
    sell out to the big fancy labels and change to soft music
    and chang there style of music it will never be THE EXPLOITED for sure

    a lot of people in here have different thoughts... most agree that Green Day did meet 'Punk' status at one time, but then sold out and went pop

    True, but I'm not too fond of sell-outs :P

    And I believe Punks back then just wanted to do what everyone thought was wrong... hence the hair, clothing, and lyrics.

    i don't see it as selling out i just see it as the older they got the calmer their music style got... because selling out is usually for the moneys.. and i think they just got popular with differnet stuff now then they did back in the day... so they stuck with the newer style to keep the younger fans so they could live one forever... or at least a few more years...
