Presumptive Democratic Nominee Barack Obama criticized John McCain's energy policy, saying it's a "gimmick" and a "false promise."
Obama claims McCain's plan will increase the United States' dependence on foreign oil.
Obama also professed his support for alternative fuels and pointed out the McCain has never voted in favor of developing alternative energy technologies.

The super delegates put him in this race against McCain to Hopefully win, so they can control him cause he's stupid to everything in Washington. Can you see this big picture. The more oil we drill for takes us that much further away from coming up with a viable soution to replace it. Mccain is just making the same mistakes as the past Bush did .When will people wake up to the fact that Mccain Is a republican and is suported by big oil! Suported by the Bush Family oil money. Republicans want oil and more oil and more military Contracts and more war in the middle east to suport there intrests in oil production. People would be better off if they got off the Bush trian and the lies that brought us here. Those same lies McCain Now supports so openly so he can gain power as presadent. just another pupet for big oil to control. People Oil and big money run this country. If we find out that we can live on something else other than oil they loose Zillions . These Dino's Cant let that happen . So mccain says we need to drill more wells to reduse are dependency. Where in hell dose that make any sence! It dosent! What would reduse are dependency is really simple we just don't use it anymore and put the oil companies out of Buisness! We wake bup go green save the planet and use some other form of fuel such as solor or what ever that is viable. McCain said that we will not see any releaf at the pumps but drilling gives confadence. Now ive heard it all! Confadence to whom those that are making the money and controleing travel! God forbid some one invents a teliporter or something like that! If he's talking mostly about Ethanol as the "alternative fuel" McCain didn't vote for, then McCain was RIGHT not to vote for it. It was a horrible idea that produces less energy than it takes to make, drives up the cost of animal feed, beef, chicken, and other foods requiring corn or any farm animal products. I wish we'd looked into hydrogen years ago and never even glanced at corn. It's just a bad idea when the crops could be crippled due to weather.
Let's face it. We ARE going to be dependent on oil for a while. There is no miracle fuel that can take us completely off of it in the next 5 or likely even 10 years. It's better that we depend on our OWN oil rather than foreign oil, while we research feasible alternate fuels and work to make everything that does require oil based products more fuel efficient. I trust McCain to do that much more than Obama, even if he's not my first pick. -

What we hear from John McCain is what we've always gotten from politicians...the razzmatazz, quick little tap dance to shut us up and make us compliant. Layout the proposals and we find that it's what? more drilling (which doesn't solve the problem that we are simply running out of oil) or pie in the sky promises like that sweetgrass crap from Bush. -

just as much of a fast talker as the rest of the yahoo's on the electoral ticket. McCain is being endorsed by Prez Bush. DUHHHHHHHHHHH!!! Do you think he is endorsing him because he doesn't have the same ideals and values that Bush has? I don't think so. From what I have read and heard on the news, McCain has vowed to continue Bush's policies, if he is elected. Barack will jump on whatever band wagon the voters are on. It is just a shame that nobody gives a rat's ass what happens to our nation. If we really did, WE THE PEOPLE would make sure idiots like Bush jr. and McCain never grace the carpet of the oval office. -

The Saudi's this month raised production by 300,000 barrels a day and are raising it 200,000 more barrels a day in July and it has made no difference in the price of gas. It isn't supply and demand it is the speculators. What we need is for our politicians to get off their bums and come up with an energy policy. We should have already had one in place after the 1970s gas crisis and now we have another chance to do the right thing and end our oil addiction. Conserving energy, encouraging new technologies and developing alternative fuels that is what we need to focus on. We have no excuses as to why we haven't already been working on these types of answers to our problem as we have known for the last 30+ years we needed to. -
