Gas station charges $1.40 a gallon. If this happened around your area, would you make line and wait two hours to take advantage of the deal?

A computer error caused a Cincinnati area service station to sell gas for $1.40 instead of $4.10, leading to a major traffic jam. Vehicles clogged the area around a Marathon station in suburban Sycamore Township while the bargain was available for roughly three hours. Many people waited in line for up to two hours to take advantage of the deal. The store clerk said he didn't know how to fix the problem and was having trouble reaching his store manager.

There are far more efficient ways to save money than scrounging for energy prices, no matter how bad they are. Go and get one of the diesels that run on deep-fat-fry grease, for one.

For $1.40 a gallon - I'd buy a Tanker truck and pull in with the top opened up. If someone wants to sell gas for 300% below the current market value - I'll buy all of it and open a gas station 'on the side'.

no, my time is worth alot and the gas will be gone soon anyway..if it was an ongoing rate i'd be willing to wait but not for a one time shot

Time is money and I earn more than a tank of gas in two hours, so it wouldn't be worth my time. Besides, once the error is corrected, you can't go back and get another good deal. And I wouldn't like the idea of CHEATING someone to save a few bucks.

Since it would only cost me $15 to fill up my tank instead of 50.25, yes! I would wait up to two ... or even maybe three hours.

I probably woulnd not even call anyone. Sitting for 2 hours, burning gas for what would equal less than $50 (even less if you consider the gas you are burning while sitting in line) in savings does not seem worth it. I have better things to do with my time.

I wouldn't call anyone in this case. I doubt there would be anything left once our family and friends arrived at the scene.

Heck yeah I would! FOR ONLY 1.40???? Sure... Who cares about a few bucks saved? But in my gas guzzling car, I do. We get around 10 mpg in city!!!! It's pathetic. Time for a trade-in.

i Remember once back when gas was still under 2 bucks a local gas station held a promotion for 99cent gas. A local radio station showed up and soon there was an uncontrollable amount of traffic and the lines were insane. Police also arrived on the scene to help direct traffic. People waited waaaayyyy more than 2 hours to save on average $10 - $20 on a single tank of gas (keeping in mind this is only a one day promotion) so I cant imagine what the lines would be like today when a tank of gas is over $4. Id expect an all out riot.
