Should Apple allow PC users to run OS X?

Apple could vastly increase the market share of Mac OS X, but would lose money in the way of hardware sales. Should Apple take the leap?

Answered Yes! Especially if running OS X on a PC is cheaper than buying a Mac.

An interesting twist. I'm wondering if such a twist would cut down the number of viruses and so forth. Or would hackers merely switch hats and dive into the previously (nearly) pure Mac platform.

No, because on selling perspective, they'd lose their sales to Mac hardware if they open up to PC market (even though you can hack the software to be installed on PC hardware).

From technical perspective, keeping all hardware in-house helps their driver software to be stable, unlike Windows where it accepts everyone's crappy programming which can become very unstable.
