U.S. Government
The bill, which will protect telecommunications companies from billions of dollars in privacy lawsuits, is the most sweeping overhaul of U.S. spy laws in several decades. Companies that provided the government with communications records of private citizens and targeted foreigners in the U.S. will not be liable to privacy laws and immune to lawsuits. The bill also takes measures to protect U.S. citizens from being monitored, but are exposed if they communicate with targeted foreigners. Democrats wanted tougher restrictions on surveillance, but were pressured to pass the bill because they did not want to appear weak on security issues this close to elections.
Do you agree with their decision?

I do and there are thousands that do Call your senator and any senator you can today (202-224-3121) they just voted on it to see if the bill was ready for a vote. There is currently a call in to the senate to stop this led by Russ Fiengold and Chris Dodd the bill will be going on the floor sometime this week, possibly today! Thanks

thanks! I have been calling all morning to all of the senators raising hell with some of them! lol If you go to Senate.gov and then to the right of the page you will see "votes" then it would be the top bill press on it and it will give you the names who voted for it and against it.

Oh yeah your right. The best senators to call are the ones who are running for re-election it puts them on the fencepost! lol I have been down in washington when they answer the phones and they use a check mark system on the issues paper so your call does make a difference sometimes! Thanks so much!

Answered No. This bill does not do enough to protect privacy.
“ If this bill passes in its current form, we will never know (if the President acted legally) -- the president’s favored corporations will be immune. Their arguments will never be heard in a court of law. The details of their actions will stay hidden. The truth behind this unprecedented domestic spying will never see light. ” Chris Dodd senator from connecticut
To hell with them that threw the liberty and freedom of the american people away for they deserve none themselves.
