So for the 4th of July....what are your plans???

My mom lives at these condo kinda places with a clubhouse that has a pool and a full size bar-b-que all the amenities, stereo system inside with Karaoke, big screen TV and couches and everything, so we have reserved that, and she lives in Edmond, OK. Which was voted one of the "Top places to be on July 4th" by USA Today. We will be going there early in the morning, watching the parade and taking part in all the activities throughout the day, and then hanging out at the club house the remainder of the day, eating...swimming, playing with the kids...enjoying the family...and then of course the big fireworks extravaganza at the UCO Campus...it's an amazing show....

So what are you guys planning for the 4th????

Go to a small town parade as we do nearly every year. Maybe go to my mom's for some swimming and BBQ before going to watch the fireworks near our house. I love the 4th!

Burning my hand wasn't in my plan, but that happened anyway. Something about mixing fireworks and alcohol just doesn't sound as smart today as it did then.

Fef talks about small town parade, well hey that’s us not a stop light in the whole county!!!! We will be doing the parade closely followed by the ducky race. The ducky race is small float able ducks bought for five dollars apiece. The Ducky's are put into the Wallowa River down from the bridge coming into to town and the first duck across the bridge at the other end of town wins first prize all following ducks are winners until we run out of prizes. We then have a town barbecue. The next town up has their annual flea market that goes on over the 4th. Fireworks are set off up at the other end of the county over the Lake. It’s a fun time and the county grows in population due to the summer tourist pouring in.
Anybody want to buy a duck???

Having a cookout at our house for friends and family buying a bunch of fireworks.Most of the people on our street set off a ton of fire works and its a pretty good show without having to fight traffic for hours.
