Is it child abuse to spank your child's bare butt with a belt?

That is why as a parent i feel the government has taken our right away to discipline our own children. They think that by letting them do whatever they want and let them know that if the parent strikes them they have the right to threaten their parents to call the police for child abuse is gonna fix the situation. All they (jail system) are doing is setting them up in a way to keep being bad or to go out there and commit a crime so the incarceration proccess can start after that i'ts impossible to turn back the hands of time now they are going to hold your sons or daughters future ion their hands. Is it any reason why we have a higher percentage of young adults and alot of younger children facing life in prison with no possibility of parol, is that a way to discipline our children well for the jail system it is, our children to them are just a number and a hefty monthly income that pays most if not all the salaries, they don't care whether your son or daughter ever gets released from prison and all because you can't discipline your child the way you want to. If you spank your child because you don't want him hangin around the neighborhood thugs then you go to jail and if you don't spank your kids then they will hang out with the thugs and eventually get in some kind of trouble then your government steps in and raises your child for you in the jail system. is that as far as us parents want our government to go as to let the youngsters of the future run wild well not for me.

I looked up the definition: child abuse is the physical, psychological or sexual maltreatment of children. Today almost any correction of a child is considered child abuse.. A minor can sue their parent(s) for almost any real or imagined abuse. Sometimes it is so insidious that it is beyond a crime, it is proper to remove the child from the home ( if the child is still alive) and imprison forever the abuser(s). Most of the time child correction is not abuse.. The Bible says in Proverbs 23:13-14NIV "Don't fail to correct your children. They won't die if you spank them. Physical discipline may well save them from death." That doesn't mean beat them! Dr.Spock, a well known psychologist from the 50's was against spanking.. Later on in his life,after he retired,(he was in his 70's), he said, " I was wrong!. The children have become disobebient and disrespectful, under my advice. I raised up a generation of monsters." Hitting a child with anything other than your hand,especially on a bare bottom, in my opinion is child abuse. Time out is not for the child, it is for the parent, so they can calm down. To punish or discipline a child while you are angry is wrong. You must calm down first, so your correction is for the best of the child and not for making you feel better. The hardest job in the world is being a parent. The hardest and the most rewarding if done with wisdom, family support and friends. It is extremely hard to do it alone and many mistakes are made because of stress. I raised 5 children and I made many mistakes, I wish I could do over many wrong decisions I made in raising them. I didn't have support and I didn't enjoy my responsibilities. But, Praise God, today they are wonderful adult children, with children of their own, and I love being NaNa.
