In my own experience (my own disclaimer.); Yes. Most persons I had encountered as "Churchly," have been very critical and judge-mental.
During some personal research, I have found that those with knowledge of thier given religious beliefs and teachings are far less critical and judge-mental, because I feel they are there for a social and spiritual event.
Some confessors of the faith may only have some limited knowledge and understanding and have been taught only one "meaning."
Be careful to practice what you preach and don't believe everything preached! -

Good question, because a yes would apply to both sides really. People are judgmental period. I have found many Christians to stay or think within the box..but then that applys to people in general as well. But coming from a family with strong Christian roots (I am not a practicing Christian because of this but have a great relationship that wonderfully spiritual with God) there have been many in my family with blinders on..that never seem to be able to see different opinions..or can seem to take the blinders off. -

It has been my experince that those who attend religiouse gatherings tend to be quicker to condemn others actions/words/deeds..... however rarely to the person but instead via gossip talk.
I have met a small handful of good folks who genuinely live by the creed of 'juddge not lest ye be judged by the merits upon which ye judge anouther'... but these people have been like preciouse jewels who see the truth of Gods love without fear of condemnation by the Almighty or brethen.

Just like anything else, it depends upon the person's nature.
