I don't like forcing things on people. I prefer creating or letting the market conditions to solve the problem. If the schools had an incentive, we wouldn't need to force them. Also, we should think bigger about going green and encourage schools toward a paperless and technology driven solution.

Aside from the fact that everyone should recycle, it's also about teaching our children responsibility for the environment. If they start learning and practicing at an early age, they will be more likely to continue through adulthood, and pass it along to their children...

Yes, we should ... although our school doesn't really have enough money for paper, but we should recycle what we do have.

instead of paper textbooks, we should have download-able ones, and just make laptops easily purchasable by students.

i feel quite strongly about paper recycling... i always try not to waste any magazines or spare paper i have by putting it in the recycling.

schools go through a huge amount of paper, what difference will putting it in a recycling box rather than in the bin make to people's lives?! not much, it takes the same amount of time. yet it could make a huge difference to the environment in the long run.

I agree, it makes me sick to see all the papers my kids bring home every week not to mention all the waste at school we don't see.

no. they can if they want, but we shouldn't make them. it's a free country.
  • raves +1   [-] by Stephii!
and soon, our country will go from this: country to this: country - because of people like you.
  • raves +1   [-] by brittney paige
i'm not saying that nobody should recycle, i'm just saying that it IS a free country. and there isnt' really any way that you are going to get a second grader to throw all of his paper into the recylcing bin. and they probably should, but i don't think that they are going to make a law saying all schools have to recycle all of their paper. And do you really recycle your papers and plastics??
  • raves +1   [-] by Stephii!
    yepper.
  • raves     [-] by brittney paige
well it's good that you do. but not all people are going to.
  • raves +1   [-] by Stephii!
Well, if they made it a law, they'd have to, and we'd all have a better life. What's the difference? Just a different kind of bin.
  • raves     [-] by brittney paige
ya, but my moms excuse was that we didn't have room.
  • raves +1   [-] by Stephii!
uh, okay. . . just switch the bins is all.
