I was born left handed,... my second grade teacher, Mrs. Ertley, decided it was best for me to be a righty and was so forced to sit on my left hand...crazy eh

It actually can go either way you are born or you can teach yourself which is a choice.

I think it has to do with what side of the brain they think with. I have a left sided horse. I have to run barrels in the reverse clover leaf pattern on him due to this.

I think it is weather your right side or left side of the brain is dominant.
I am right handed but I can also write with the left but its not very neat.
I know people who are right handed in some activities and left handed in others.

Yeah just ask one of my elementary school teachers. I was orginally left handed but kept being told that I was writting wrong and made to switch hands. Now i'm right handed.. but I still have the ability to somewhat write with my left, but I can do many things with my left hand that many right handed people find impossible..... I even shoot pool left handed.

Although a person can learn to learn to use the other hand if they have help from a therapist, should the hand they naturally tend to use becomes disabled, but it is not easy.

Being left handed myself I may be a little bias but when I have to babysit all of the kids do things left handed, and the parents train them to be right handed.

I am right handed but left eye dominant. So I right with my right hand, and shoot pool, and a gun with my left. Neither are by choice.

No. if you look at little kids and the way they hold crayons, and throw, you would know that there is no choice in it.and ya, you can be trained to be right handed, but you can train yourself to be left handed too.

My son is right handed and pitched in the minor league for 10 years, then gave it up when his son was born. Tried hard to have his son be left handed, didn't work.
  • raves     [-] by brittney paige

umm....no God made them that way but some people choose to try and switch to write with the other hand for a while and sorda get into a habit of it so they finally become left or right handed. My bro would always write with both his hands until finally one day he made adecisiont hat he waz gonna be a right tighty~so basically the answer is No.
