Obama made this statement at a meeting of the Congressional Black Caucus when Rep. Diane Watson (D-Calif.) pressed him on how there needs to be healing in the Democratic Party.
"Look, Diane, John McCain, if he's elected, is going to pick a Supreme Court that will roll back every gain women have made in the last 50 years."

Yes, but there hasn't been a debate yet. There has just been some random person on the Internet claiming he could "destroy" my comment "in about 100 ways"--even though there are only 3 actual propositions in my comment, and only one he would disagree with. When there is an actual debate, there will be no name-calling on my part.

Shadow...How is it that soooo many people lap up the slop he spews. Have that many Americans really become pigs who are willing to be satisfied at suckling at the national teet and eat at the government trough that they see Obama as the "hope" for their future? I see Obama having gotten this far due to the failure of the American people more than because Obama is a con artist.

Some people constantly bitch about things, others just sit around and expect someone else to take action. Too many are lazy and do not care enough to invest themselves. Then there is this really select group... they jerk my chain the most... When you say something about what government is doing wrong (like not throwing out the illegals), they just look at you like you are crazy... and pass it off as something less than what they want to discuss...
I keep ranting... hoping anyone will open their eyes, grow a backbone.... stand up...

LaZbum, I think his whole agenda is for change -- a terrible change that will be the end of our country as we know it. Obama gives new meaning to the term "empty suit." His strings are being pulled by puppeteers hidden above the stage. He's the glib con guy that reels in the stupid people with a spiel that takes their minds off the true issues. Once these star-gazers get inside and learn the truth, they won't be able to get back out again because it will be too late. This man is truly scary.

greenwoodtree...Most people don't recall the catastrophic economic change brought about by the crazy tax increases, irresponsible energy and economic schemes of Jimmy Carter. It took the U.S. nearly 12 years to recover economically. Much of the reason the U.S. is in the energy hole it's currently in is because of Carter's ill conceived energy schemes denying the U.S. the opportunity to build nuclear plants and additional refineries.

I Saw The Light...You're right on target. Clinton came with detailed plans, experience and a history of building friendships in the Senate. Obama comes with no detailed policy plans and just empty words and promises of handouts. Not only is it a disgusting time for Democrats it's a perilous time for hard working Americans.

Many people do not understand why I keep bringing up Cuba. This is why and it is simple they both follow the same doctrine. Black Freedom Theology is an extension of Freedom Theology which was the doctrine they pushed. -
Do you know anything about anything? The term, first of all, is "liberation theology." Second, it was not "pushed" in Cuba because Castro is a down-the-line atheist and Stalinist. Third, no, American-style liberalism is not "the same doctrine" as either Castro's Stalinism or liberation theology.
Part of the problem is, having lived and matured under Bush, people are starting to expect that electing a president is more or less the same as appointing a king. Even if Obama were this crypto-Communist or crypto-Muslim everyone fears, he would still have two other branches of government, not to mention public opinion, to contend with. The President is a public servant, not a ruler. -
I most certainly do, having bin born there. Castro did not turn to Stalinism till later when he was turned away by the US. When he was told to hold free elections and he turn it down. He was not an atheist He wore a cross most of his life. He turned the mother Church away for it took funds from the island.
He to all rights was a socialist what you call liberation theology was actually liberation revolution translated for you is "Freedom Revolution" revolution being the actbut the belief is theology. Thus Freedom Theology.
Now I never said "American-style liberalism" was based on the Freedom Theology. Dr Coons wrote his books in the mid to late sixty's laying out Black Freedom Theology which was based on Fidel Castro and Che Guevara along with afew others' writings mid fifty's. These are the books and doctrine that rev.Wright and rev.Pfleger were pushing.

Denny, unless you are from Cuba, know many people well who fled Cuba or have read extensively on the subject, you don't see what is ahead for us if this man becomes President. Forget branches of government -- if he has a Democratic congress and puts more liberals on the Supreme Court, he will make the changes he and his handlers want without the possibility of meaningful opposition. When people in Cuba realized what they had chosen, it was too late, as it will be for many of his star-struck supporters here. I have a good friend from a wealthy family in Cuba. When Fidel made his triumphant march into Havana his sister ran out of the house with her jewelry to donate to the Revolution. Soon they were sharing their house with a few rooms for them and the rest for strangers, but the damage was done and no going backwards. There's a reason why so many Cubans have risked their lives and left everything behind to come here. Now our own people want to repeat history. Everything that comes out of Obama's mouth, like out of Fidel's, is no more than expediency calculated to get unthinking and inexperienced sheeple to vote for him.

He will do or say anything he thinks will work. He has no core values.
Here is the real question and I get to ask it because I am clearly not against his race. Would anyone consider a Jr Senator, with no real credentials, naive and dangerous foreign policy ideas, appalling and, perhaps, criminal association and connections, demonstrateable lack of common sense and judgement if he were not a minority. The answer is no, we would not consider him at all.
It is indeed about race: Blacks voting because he is a minority and whites voting to prove how far they have come. He is not presidential timber - maybe in 5-6 years and maybe not at all. In my book it is the latter, I really wanted him to be the one; you will never know how much. But he is not, he may be the worst candidate in a decade.
Will he win? Maybe he will be swept in on the tidal wave of white guilt and black elation, but not with my vote.

His current move from Uber-liberal to moderate is all the evidence needed to prove his lack of concern about integrity. There is also the deafening silence from the media and his ardent supporters on what he has done to set back rights and anti-discrimation by more than 50 years. During the primary he and his supporters made it OK, again, to discriminate on the basis of gender. You witnessed what they did to Hillary. He and his supporters are now making age-discrimination OK, again. You are hearing their comments, and ridicule about McCain's age, some direct, some oblique. He and his supporters are now bringing race into the campaign. Just recently he told an audience of black people that the republicans will be playing the race card (after they mock his name and call him a scary man). So, go ahead discriminate, once again, on race, gender and age, BO says that'll be just fine - you know, the way we did 50 years ago.
