Gas Tank Fill-Ups... How much gas do you put in your tank at one time?
The price of gas keeps rising at gas stations, and its getting to be ridiculously priced. 5 dollars a gallon is making people really start thinking about alternate transportation. Do you fill up your tank when you go to get gas?

Answered I just hold my breath and fill the tank up!

It's like thirty bucks to fill up my tank. It used to be eleven. Jeez.

And is it me or does the gas seem not to last as long as before? As if they are diluting it with something. I don't know. I have had my car for many years and I think it eats up gas a lot more now than before. And it's a Honda. It's usually pretty good with gas.

It costs around $45 to fill my tank, and I fill it up every time I get gas. I'm going to have to buy it anyway, and there's no telling how much it will be tomorrow or the next day.

I cannot legally drive but my mother usually gets $25-worth per fill, meaning nothing at all. I put $10 on something called a MetroCard (that's right) every week and take my bike when i am not traveling too far.

I have a Nissan Murano which holds 18 gallons but I'm only 12 miles round trip a day from work so it depends on how much I drive on the weekends. If little or none - I can go 3 weeks on a tank of gas.

People are stealing gas from cars. I only put in $20-$25 at a time.

Once I get it down to about half a tank, I start looking for the cheapest gas.

Did you know that you actually get worse mpg burning flexfuel e85?
  • raves +1   [-] by Coach
Yes, but after using it through the first few tanks it has gotten better. I have figured out that factoring in cost of fuel, my vehicle, where I drive and how often I drive it is more beneficial to "Burn the Corn" right now... It did not make sense when fuel was $2.00 or less.

I may fill up my tank full, but I would just start filling up half way.

I think it's the same thing filling it up or only getting a certain amount at one time. If you only fill it a certain amount then you just have to back and get more sooner.

I never usually let it get all the way to empty (or close enough to worry about running out). I fill it and it runs me about 65-70 to do so. I have two children, both of whom are in carseats still. I am trying for a 3rd. We have a Honda minivan and I don't see that changing anytime soon (like within the next decade).

It's a good 45 dollars to fill up my gas tank but I get 36 miles to the gallon in my supposed "gas efficient" Cobalt. It's not bad. I put in 25 and get over a half a tank which lasts a bit.

I really don't even kknow what to say about this! I would have already started riding a bicycle to work if it wasn't so far! Its funny....You work to make money and survive, but you can't get to work without a car with gas in it, but you can't afford gas unless you work and make money, but you can't work and make money unless you have gas in your car to get to work, but you can't have gas in your car to get to work unless you make money, but you can't.........you get the point!

It takes an average of $84 to fill up my tank and that lasts about a week to 1 1/2! CRAZY!! Too bad my truck is paid off and I don't want to get into debt, I would be looking for a car that has good gas mileage.

This is a good way to trick yourself into thinking your paying less!! Fill up the tank never let it get below 3/4. Then every time you go to the gas station you know you're only going to spend about $20-$30. LOL
    Works for me!
thinking paying tank 34 gas station spend 20-30 lol works

I only put in $30 at a time. It takes about $170 to fill up my car and truck. It's too depressing. I can't make myself spend that much money on gas at one time. LOL

Answered I only put in a certain dollar amounts worth of gas at a time.

I drive a Honda Civic coupe which is great on gas. I get about 34 miles per gallon highway and 26 miles per gallon in the city. I usually get a 1/2 tank to 3/4 of a tank at a time, which ends up costing me $24-$29 each time (small tank only 10 or 11 gallons). Hey Congress, get your heads out of your asses and get something done. DRILL NOW! DRILL NOW! DRILL NOW! Happy 4th of July everyone! Don't eat hamburgers this weekend. There was a 147 million pounds of ground beef that went to 22 states and is now on recall because it's tainted.
