"See Spot run" My granddaughter (going into 2nd grade) reads books I remember reading in about 3rd. Which is funny, because know alot of kids that are starting college and can not read a newpaper.

My mom actually saved mine from Kindergarten, originals with pretty crayon colorings! My grand-daughter has even read them and told me some bad person wrote in them! Of course, I have taught her (as did my g-mother did me) to never write in books. Wait til she finds out that bad girl was me!!

Lee--you would love them. They are American classics now, but were reading primers in the 60's. They have made a nostalgic comeback of late.

My grandaughter had a spelling word I had to look up on the net. She is only in the second grade. lol

oh, no my grandaughter gets all of them right. Spelling was not the prob, she had to write sentences. Was all good.

I was referring to the many kids on here and some would be adults who can't seem to spell well enough to figure out what they are trying to say. No offense intended to you and yours. I and her mother home schooled our daughter the first three grades and she had no trouble when she went to public school.

I don't even remember. It was some 10 plus word. Really incredible for a 7 year old.

lol. Some people nowadays can't even spell a simple word. Like "engaged". I see "ingaged", especially on this site, and I think "what has the world come to?"
