Alice in Chains is my favorite Seattle band, Nirvana 2nd. I could have picked the Nirvana MTV Unplugged album picture because their show is arguably the most famous Unplugged. Nirvana really had it going on that night. but I love Alice in Chains and I just listened to "Over Now" tremendous.

Oooh yeah! We didn't MTV ere in Oz at the time tho. Rage used to play the unplugged sessions as a special every now and then, I still have Alice In Chains, Pearl Jam, Stone Temple Pilots and Nirvana on a VHS cassette at my old folks place somewhere, and I have a bootleg cd of Smashing Pumpkins doing an unplugged show too...I must copy that, it's getting a bit worn now. -

I remember when MTV used to play music videos! When the game show "Remote Control" was as new as "The Real World". I remember the "Half Hour Comedy Hour", "Beavis and Butthead" and wasn't "The State" on MTV? When the videos used to show the band, usually at a concert, instead of a mini movie made for YouTube. Way before the video director got just as much billing as the band itself. I stopped watching when I couldn't find the music I listened to between "YO! MTV Raps!" and episode of "Yo Momma!", although I did watch the Yo Momma Mother's Day marathon. I remember back when bands like Metallica were "too cool" for videos, until their bassist died and "One" came out which was truly inspired by a movie, unlike the videos today. Which of course I'd be happy to make if I could find some half naked women to prance around in front of the camera. I can scream into the mic as well as the next moron. Does that answer your question? *grin* -
I'm just happy to say that MTV helped shaped my musical tastes when I grew up - since I was born a little over a year before MTV was. You can see so much of their current influence in the channels under the MTV Networks umbrella, it's pretty sickening.
Speaking of Yo!, that was actually my favorite episode of Unplugged. And not just because you could see bits of deodorant in LL Cool J's armpit hair.
