Where did some of these people go to school?
I think we now have proof that the educational system in this country is right down the sewer. Some of the polls on Sodahead are almost uninterpretable. The spelling is horrid. The language is attrocious... Where did they go to school.

Answered I are did go to privit skewl

I can see what you mean, but I'm not as stupid as many of these people and I'm 18. In my opinion private school is worse then public, my little brothers friend goes to private and he doesn't know half the things my brother does.

However, I just love to laugh at ignorant uneducated Jonas Brothers fan girls cursing you out (with terrible grammer) for hating the Jonas Brothers. (Agree with them or die... hmm......

fan girls cursing terrible grammer hating jonas brothers die hmm )

To those younger people who are actually paying attention and learning, I mean no disrespect.... There are just sooooo many morons!

    Agreed (again)

I see many 13 year old girls who are smart

and many who literally think they will marry them...

They're using texting language sometimes, other times the just can't spell. I use good spelling and grammar all the time. About graduating before 1980, I heard two old ladies who didn't know each other use the term "worser" instead of "worse".

    DrTim has my vote!

And don't even get me started on my elementary school age children attending a 70% non-english speaking school-Not by choice-but public district school-I am working real hard here to keep my wits about me!

I understand your plight. I am so very grateful that I do not have any children in school right now! I don't know if I could do it. Good luck!

    Thanks Ruby
Needed someone to agree with me-I have a 25 yr old who went to same school-14 yrs difference in age from my 2 youngest and it is NOT the same school at all. I have been in culture shock for the past 2 years-literally!

I think the problem is that most of them haven't finished school yet...

    finished school
  • raves +1   [-] by RubyTuesday
These are, for the most part, very basic words. Things I learned in 2nd and 3rd grade. Not finishing school is no excuse.
  • raves +1   [-] by Katy
Lol, true. Okay, then maybe its the newest generations intrest in the internet that prevented them from learning these words in the first place. Either that or its because of all that texting....

school is not the problem...its the internet.... school internet school internet school internet
  • raves     [-] by RubyTuesday
Please help me understand. How is the internet the problem? If people know how to spell, know how to speak, and can formulate a proper sentence, then why can't they do that on the internet? It is either a lack of proper education or a lack of interest in doing things correctly. And if people slack for a long enough period of time, they can easily lose whatever knowledge they once had.
  • raves     [-] by jj
in school, we spell in proper english because we have to... not like in the internet, we dont have to.....

Today's young people have a language all their own. My kids tell me to shorten up the words when I send them text messages. I tell my children to text me in English only. Letters instead of words spelling phonetically; it's a whole new world.

Some people just can't spell but you have to remember there are people from all over the world on here. English isn't always the first language. But so help me there should be a down rave category for that damn texting language!

It is true but sad. I will be the first to admit I am not the greatest speller but I have spell check and use it! Also I use google to check the meaning of some words or find one that would get my point across better. what scares me is the younger sodaheads! Wow, is it that they can't spell or don't care? Charlotte Iserbyt wrote a book called "the deliberate dumbing down of america" - A Chronological Paper Trail. I can see it is working.

I think you may have hit the nail on the head... They just don't care. What in the world are we going to do when we're older and these kids are running the corporations, etc.... Scary!

I don't know why but at least . few are gifts and few are good with other things like for example fixing car, do ladies know how to fix car not whole a lot.
  • raves +1   [-] by RubyTuesday
But, for example, when I was 20 years old and my husband was at sea, in the Navy, I had no money and my VW bus broke down -- I got a book, actually read it, and rebuilt the flippin' engine with the help of my mother, because my dad was working and on the road.... Being able to read is also very important, and I'm not sure these kids can read, or they would know just how bad their polls are...
  • raves +1   [-] by Maria
yes that's true be able to read is the key.

I agree 100% I think 50% of the pollsters are morons, 25% are just plain stupid, 20% are merely ignorant, and the rest of us in the top 5% are shining beacons of elitist intelligence!
