General Government, Politics & Law
They used the story of a terrible scene in a New York hospital emergency room where a lady collapsed at around 5:30am and was ignored for about an hour -- it was too late, she was dead by the time they gave her proper attention. But, CNN spun it to support their claim that the US Healthcare system is badly broken. This is unbelievable pandering and despicable spin to use this horrendous story to spin their liberal political agenda.

Answered Yes. I agree. CNN is in the pocket of liberal extremists.
They're liberal, but Lou Dobbs is more of a xenophobic progressive than a traditional liberal. If you're referring to Dobbs, I don't blame you. I can't stand him--or Jack Cafferty for that matter. Cafferty is an unfunny Louis Black. Nevertheless, Wolf Blitzer's a solid newsman.
Fox is conservative extremism--or at least their pundits are. They twist logic and reason, misrepresent facts, etc. They're Bush apologists and Karl Rovists who will do anything to present their position as the only position. I left the Republican party because of a-holes like that.
MSNBC is the only tolerable station. Some of their news pundits are too liberal for me, but they make good use of conservatives like Pat Buchanan and Joe Scarborough. I love it when Pat Buchanan is on.
I do miss the good ole days when the news was presented not by pundits, but rather by reporters. -

I turn off/switch stations when the alphabet news when it comes on -- TV and radio. Communist News Network, Anything But Conservative, Nitwits Bashing Conservatives, Constitutional Bashing Service -- doesn't matter, they're all bad.
I barely touch newspaper drool either. It's either propaganda or police blotter stuff. Only mind numbed fools waste their time listening to propaganda.
The internet provides individually tailered news and perspectives in much more efficient formats. -

I get stuck it them when I travel and cannot believe how biased they can be. It incredible! The other day, they were blaming W for bad the tomatoes. Ad it was one of their more serious dudes. He acted like he was going to kill someone! -

There is only on show I watch on CNN and it's the Lou Dobbs Show at 7pm.
He gives you information about issues and facts you will never hear on most other programs. I'm addicted and never miss him although sometimes the honest truth makes my blood pressure rise. Try him out Robert I think you'll like him. -

This event is unforgiveable. I was not suprised that the hospital is a public healthcare facility. Proof, once again, that government does a piss poor job when in charge rather than private citizens and business. -

I feel the same way with Fox news....WAY to right for me and CNN is HORRIBLE liberal crap!
Why can't we have a news station without OPINIONS!?!?!?!?!?!?!? And no entertainers or agendas? JUST THE FACTS! JUST THE FACTS! Bring back the news casters with no personality and strait faced reads! I want robots doing the news and writting the news! NOT KIDDING! I want facts so I can decide for myself without someone trying to brainwash me.
It's a good question Robert but obviously you don't fel the same way about Fox!?!?!?! An open mind can see the spin they give and only an open mind can be honest about Fox news and their agenda with politics.
CNN AND FOX ARE BOTH HORRIBLE! They are in a fight to brainwash America with their agenda. -
No Fox doesn't spin the news... independent research has confirmed that they are the least biased news source by far.
News commentary programs *O'Reilly, Hannity & Colmes, etc." are different from news, btw. But Fox ALWAYS has guests from both sides of the issues on all of their programs. They are by far the most "fair and balanced." -
independent research????? Please explain who did this independent research?
Ok...Being someone who leans conservative, I even see the lean and spin.
As far as guests go...Bill O'rilley will have someone from the left on but he will kill their mike if they make a good point or says something he doesn't agree with. Hannity talks over the ones he dosen't agree with and the other conservative sheep follow!
The independent research you speak of....needs to be independently researcheed by real independents....not colleges or companies that get tax breaks because of consrvatives and republicans. -
Here is but one:
Excerpts from: "A Measure of Media Bias" -- Dept of political science, UCLA, Graduate school of business, Stanford University, Harris School of Public Policy, University of Chicago.
" Our results show a very significant liberal bias. All of the news outlets except Fox News’ Special Report received a score to the left of the average member of Congress. Moreover, by one of our measures all but three of these media outlets (Special Report, the Drudge Report, and ABC’s World News Tonight) were closer to the average Democrat in Congress than to the median member of the House of Representatives. One of our measures found that the Drudge Report is the most centrist of all media outlets in our sample. Our other measure found that Fox News’ Special Report is the most centrist. These findings refer strictly to the news stories of the outlets. That is, we omitted editorials, book reviews, and letters to the editor from our sample.

One of the most curious and surprising statistics in all of American politics is that an overwhelming number of journalists are liberal. For instance, Elaine Povich (1996) reports that only seven percent of all Washington correspondents voted for George Bush in 1992, compared to 37 percent of the American public.1 Lichter, Rothman and Lichter, (1986) and Weaver and Wilhoit (1996) report similar findings for earlier elections. " The reason this statistic is curious and surprising is that many consider the media the watchdog of government, sometimes calling it the “Fourth Branch of American Government.” If so, it is by far the least representative of the branches. These statistics suggest that journalists, as a group, are more liberal than almost any congressional district in the country. For instance, in the Ninth California district, which includes Berkeley, twelve percent voted for Bush, nearly double the rate of journalists. In the Eighth Massachusetts district, which includes Cambridge, nineteen percent voted for Bush, more than triple the rate of journalists. In the 14th California district, which includes Palo Alto, 26 percent voted for Bush, more than four times the rate of journalists."

Like I said...an independently research group needs to examine who is making this claim.
I'm not arguing that the media is mainly liberal....I'm arguing that Fox isn't trying to balance it out...which is wrong!
Balancing the playing field means they are leaning to the right.....If the media is mainly liberal and has been for years, don't you think it's natural for most people who have conservative views to not see this?
Fox isn't balanced in their news....they are balancing the news and making it a level playing field and that's wrong in my opinion. -
If Fox News is far to the right of your positions, then you probably do not have conservative views as you claim. Fox is arguably closest to the center of all news programming...if you are far to the left of that, you are a "far left liberal."
The source I provided is from educational institutions, which also tend to skew far to the left, btw. -- yet they found Fox News to be the most centric of all news programming. -
Robert...I don't believe in abortion, welfare, government run education, I think liberals are killing our country, I don't believe in destroying our sovereignty, I would stick every fucking illegal in a space ship and send them home, I don't believe in high taxes and I served my country....If that's not f***ing conservative, then you're smoking d**k brother!
Now...With those opinions, I can still be honest with myself and say Fox news is as conservative as they come. You are lying to yourself or you just don't see it because you hate CNN and their liberal garbage.....Fox news is leveling the playing field. They aren't giving us balanced news....they are balancing the news!
Open your eyes man!
-
lol...that vid shows no bias from Fox News whatsoever... only liberals making accusations that they do. That is nothing new...libs cannot fathom news network that refuses to be a puppet of the Democrat Party and moveon.org. That video has not one example of an actual bias in presenting the news.

I refuse to watch the Obama news networks.
