Of course he was a Semite -- if there was such a man, he would have looked something like this:

There is just too much evidence supporting this. By the way race is a figment of the mind. It is a poorly man made categorizing system for the one human race.

If it matters not what his skin looks like why do we continually depict him as having white skin, blue eyes and blond hair? It would be wonderful if people believed the color of his skin was inconsequential, but obviously this is not the case. The pictorial description of him arguably is that of a white male with European features, a description in stark contrast with that stated in the bible, and I believe therein lies the reason it matters to some what his skin looks like because the concept promotes and maintains the idea of white superiority.

    "hair of wool"
95% Jews and Arabs I know have hair like that.

"bronze" is poor translation. Not "bronze" but "χαλκολίβανον" - One of the translations is SHINE OF THE METAL/SHINING METAL.
Also it is one of the types of rare Lebanese green copper or bronze - metal mix with gold or silver. But this word meant that it is in melted state - melted copper in this state is BRIGHT/LIGHT/LUSTRE.
In later days meaning changed and meant brass.

    Brass:

I say none of the above, due to I personally Dont think he even existed,
But if a man with a story as of his was to be true, then I would say Middle Eastern, Due to the fact he came from the middle eastern, there are descriptions in the bible stating his hair looked like wool, only it was very soft like silk,

Jesus was of a Jewish decent, which would have given him a medium complexion with dark brown hair. His skin was probably darkened and his hair lightened from having spent so much time outdoors.

    Black skinned. His head and his hairs were white like wool, as white as snow; and his eyes were as a flame of fire;
And his feet like unto fine BRASS, as if they burned in a furnace; and his voice as the sound of many waters. Revelation 1:15

And immediately I was in the spirit: and, behold, a throne was set in heaven, and one sat on the throne.
And he that sat was to look upon like a Jasper and a sardine stone: and there was a rainbow round about the throne, in sight like unto an emerald.

Jasper and sardine stones are dark brown to black. Josephus the first century Jewish Historian said that Jesus had "very dark skin". Jesus in the book of Romans is declared to be the seed of David according to the FLESH. Solomon was the son of David and he said: " I am black, but comely, O ye daughters of Jerusalem, as the tents of Kedar, as the curtains of Solomon". "fine BRASS, as if they burned in a furnace;"

You have a very poor translation.
    There was the word "χαλκολίβανον"
One of the translations is SHINE OF THE METAL/SHINING METAL.
Also it is one of the types of rare Lebanese green copper or bronze - metal mix with gold or silver. But this word meant that it is in melted state - melted copper in this state is BRIGHT/LIGHT/LUSTRE.

    Color of brass: http://images.ask.com/picture...

Also, "jasper" and "sardine stone" is a metaphor for the "precious", etc. You can't take revelation as not a metaphor. :-)lol)

Jasper - variety of silica, usually yellow, red or brown in color.
"Jasper a precious stone frequently noticed in Scripture. It was the last of the twelve inserted in the high priest's breastplate, Ex 28:20; 39:13 and the first of the twelve used in the foundations of the new Jerusalem. Re 21:19 The characteristics of the stone as far as they are specified in Scripture, Re 21:11 are that it "was most precious," and "like crystal;" we may also infer from Re 4:3 that it was a stone of brilliant and transparent light. The stone which we name "jasper" does not accord with this description. There can be no doubt that the diamond would more adequately answer to the description in the book of Revelation."

You haven't presented any proof that Jesus was not a black man. This little meaningless drivel you have just written means what?
  • raves +4   [-] by El智-Votus~NOoBSamaHUSSEIN
It is you who haven't presented any proof that Jesus was a black man. Just a few misunderstandings and poor translations.

    1. Jesus was a Jew by mother and she wasn't black, even if you want to believe that she was. Your ideas are believes and nothing more.
His father could be anyone and could be even blond male that was taking by Mary as a God, because of his blond hair and light skin. ;-)

    2. Jesus was traveling in the desert, etc. and his skin of course could get very dark, especially because he was Middle Eastern Jew.

    3. Possible that Solomon was mixed, because his mother Bathsheba was half black? And it will make everyone black? :-)lol)

wow . well its an answer. you sound like a scentist. well none of the people in the bible were and not the ones who described him. Well then explain the hair like wool. It sounds like you are just dying to find a way to make him white. Truth be told it really doesnt matter. What matters is if you believe that he is your personal savior!!

One more time, he was a jew with brown skin. Translation of "χαλκολίβανον" is only answer to the one who thinks that Jesus and his mother were black africans.
