Answered Miltary
McCain is an honorable Senator. I voted for him in 2000. But the world has changed since then. After the Bush administration, we need someone who can mend our international relations with diplomacy, not military threats. McCain tried to kick Russia out of the G8 last week--not China, but Russia--because he didn't think they were democratic enough or in strong enough support of free trade. Bush's "with us or against us" rhetoric already has Russia making Cold-War-esque allegiances against the US again. But it's not too late to undo the damages that Bush has done.
Also, economically, McCain is clueless. His proposed expansion of the tax cuts is merely his pandering to Bush supporters. In the same economic plan that includes expanding the Bush tax cuts and maintaining the war in Iraq, he vows to balance the budget--by merely line-item vetoing all pork barrel projects without discretion.
Bear in mind, levee repair like what we needed in New Orleans before Katrina is included in those pork-barrel projects. Rather than blindly vetoing all of them, he should execute a little discretion. Don't you think?
Again, I believe McCain is honorable, and I'm glad he's the Senate's maverick. He's there to keep everyone else in check. But in today's world, he's a better legislator than an executor. -
Answered Strength
How strong would you be living his life? I honor him and so should all Americans. I am not supporting him in the election because I am a democrat and don't vote for republicans....he is to be commended for all he does for Americans whether you believe in him or not. -
I used to really look up to McCain as a politician it just seems like the campaign has kind of marginalized him, which leads me to believe he's just a tool of corporate America as are the rest. I don't think he's a good choice or think he really understands whats going on. I'd like to think maybe if he does get elected that the old McCain we knew several years ago may come back, but I think he's long gone.

When you are beholdant to the drug companies, oil companies, insurance companies and so on and so on, but you need average Americans to vote for you............it may just take 8 seconds to think before you speak, but then he just sounded like a complete moron even after all that thought. He is in no shape to be the next president of this country.

Answered Strength
Of the remaining candidates he possesses strength and courage to do difficult jobs and isn't afraid to stand against the establishment. Probably the only true change representative in the Congress. Although both remaining candidates are totally and absolutely unqualified at least McCain isn't a pathological liar like his opponent. -
Answered War
He's a respectable man, but I don't agree with his stance on Iraq. I believe he's too conservative and set in his ways to keep up with the changing face of society. I'm not pleased with Obama either. Looks like this year's going to be a write-in... -
Answered Qualified
If you meant vs Obama, McCain is qualified, old, military, strength. I don't associate him with Bush or war. He needs to woo conservatives, so he leans toward the right heavily now. He was a centrist on many issues, and almost turned to change to Democratic party. Best choice after Hilary is gone.
