My parents were Democrats when I was growing up, but when I turned 18 I became a registered Rep. After Bill Clinton's second term they became Rep. too, now they wonder how they were ever Dems. My whole family, for the most part, is Rep. There are still a few Dems though and we work hard to convert them.

Both of my parents are very strong conversative Republicans- who in taking pride and responsibility made sure each of my siblings and myself when we turned of age - went and registered to vote- so of course I registered as a republican. As I got older I truly realized I wasn't a republican- I openely voted for Kerry in 2004 AGAINST BUSH- my parents were ashamed and upset with me- it was kind of what added to me parents and I not speaking anymore besides other issues- but anyways- I consider myself an INDEPENDENT now. -

My ancestors were, and some still are, democrats. More and more, I'm switching to independent. The Democratic Party has lost the principles and representative leadership it has always held in high esteem. Their treatment of Hillary Clinton was disgraceful, and not just because she was a woman , but because she was not favored by the in-group of ruling democrats in congress. -

Yep, I used to enjoy raising the old man's blood pressure to catastrophic heights by expounding on the inanity of the repubican party.
