Should the person who decapitated the Adolf Hitler wax figure be punished?
Berlin hails ex-policeman who decapitated Hitler waxworkA left-wing activist ripped off the head of the Adolf Hitler wax figure in the Berlin affiliate of Madame Tussauds and shouted ‘Never again war!’ Prosecutors want to charge him with wilful damage to property (the figure cost over $300,000).

It's not about the Hitler thing. We just can't have people thinking they can run around destroying stuff all the time. It's really getting annoying. It's against the law. The "punishment", however, shouldn't be $300,000. What kind of a harebrained nut job punishment is that? They should look up in the law books what would happen if he had decapitated the Winston Churchill wax figure, and charge him the same way. I don't know. Actual costs/damages for fixing the thing to Madame Tussauds, and a night in the tank to cool off. How's that? Their making a big deal because it's Hitler, and not some other figure. Vandalism is vandalism regardless of the piece of art involved. Right? Everything has to be all political. Everywhere it seems. This is a simple act of vandalism and civil disobedience, and doesn't deserve a moment more attention than the kids who keep tagging the buildings in the neighborhood where I work. -
Answered None of the above
well a little of both actually. he shouldn't have done that to private property and that is offensive to the person who made it but at the same time hitler was very cruel to people of different religions, skin types, and countries. and the person who destroyed it might have been overwhelmed. :( -
Answered Don't punish him: Hitler deserved it (wax figure or not)
dont punish him because hitler deserved it even if it was just a statue because he killed all of those jews and it wasnt fair he should of died the same way as all of those jews were killed -

He damaged property. PLain and simple.
I understand the anger people have, but Hitler is part of history like it or not. The figure wasn't portrayed in an authoritative or glorious way, so I don't see the harm in having it on display. It's a reminder to everyone that left unchecked, lunatics can rise to power and cause horrific suffering. -

it doesn't matter i dont think.....its just a wax figure, and its merely remembering every thing horrible he ever did.
the holocaust should never be forgotten. it was horific but forgetting about it would just do the victims a huge wrong. we must always remember them.
i do totally understand why the guy did what he did and why, and i sympathize w/ him but he can't destroy some one else's property.
he's not coming back from the grave or anything, and having a wax figure is not symbolizing us going over to his side or anything.
the line has to be drawn somewhere, if this was allowed then it would just keep growing and growing.
i am all for you protesting against hitler, but just find a cheaper and law abiding way to do it k? lol -
Did you see that Hitler sculpture? That was a fantastic wax replica! It has it's own special beauty just like David. I was merely replying to the comment that the man who sculpted the wax figure should be punished for making the figure. If you disagree with something, why punish the man who created it?

Yes make him wear the Adolf Hitler skull like a hat for 3 days.
