John McCain's new campaign says that he is no Bush. Do you agree that Bush and McCain are different?
This is the best strategy in this election I have seen since Obama's "Fight the Smears." Is about time John McCain fights back about what people mostly judge him for, claiming that he is Bush's 3rd term. John McCain and George Bush have a lot in common, but these two Republicans have also had some high profile differences, and McCain's presidential campaign is more than willing to point them out. From climate change to his first calls for a surge of U.S. troops into Iraq, McCain has not always seen eye to eye with President Bush or, for that matter, other GOP leaders on issues of policy for the better part of the past decade. His open defiance of the Republican establishment has helped to bolster his image as a "maverick" lawmaker willing to shun party loyalty and obedience for personal principle. And seeing that this election is likely to be won by the candidate who successfully attracts the most support of uncommitted independents, expect to hear more about the McCain and Bush differences in the coming months.
"We feel like that is a record that must be given attention every time Barack Obama falsely accuses John McCain of running for George Bush's third term," said Nicolle Wallace, a veteran Bush operative who joined Team McCain in May. "There is no truth to that."

McCain is a gold medalist in flip flopping. He may have been a "maverick" at one time but he is 100% in line with the failed and destructive Bush administration.
"According to a Congressional Quarterly analysis of Senate votes on issues President George W. Bush expressed “an explicit, stated opinion," Sen. John McCain (R-AZ) "voted with President Bush 100 percent of the time in 2008 and 95 percent of the time in 2007."

Bush has ruined this country in some ways but has kept us safe at home. Obama will ruin this country even more with his left wing socialist policies. Mcain is a better choice. All three refuse to enforce the laws of this country concerning true immigration reform without amnesty! -

McCain is close to Bush in a lot of ways. They are both too liberal for me. All I can say is McCain isn't Obama so I'm probably going to have to vote for him. It's not racial, it's intellectual! Again I am forced to vote against someone instead of for them.
Before you Obama folks start in on me I would vote for satan before Obama. At least I know what satan stands for it's just too bad she's out of the race now. Check out Obama's progress through the Illinois political arena. WHAT A JOKE!! -

We made a mistake in the last election. I don't think were stupid enough to go through with it again. At least this year is a discombobulated "strong-christian" and thinks bombing and killing more people is a good idea vs a black guy, doesn't give a crap what religion has to do with politics, and is all for the working class.
How dumb is our culture? We have a bunch of white voters saying "Go McCain" With no reason.. they hardly ever have a justifying reason other than the fact that he's white, and a christian, and likes to blow shit up. Hello.. Bush did the same thing and look at our economy... WOO! Yay bush indeed

McCain is NOT Bush at all. Just check out his voting record. There have been many issues that McCain has differed from Bush and infact, been a strong opponent of most of the Bush administrations polices. To even think for 1 minute that Bush and McCain are in any way the same is borderline Fantasy World. But I have seen these BHO supporters actually try and compare BHO with Ronald Regan. To even utter BHO and Ronald Regan in the same breath is ridiculous and proves the Fantasy World they live in! -
You voted for Bush twice because your are a retard! Masochist! You love Financial abuse! Gop stands for Gouging Oil Prices , Bush is buying a big supply of KY for mccain so he can bend us over for 4 more years with all the same business firms and special interest groups DUUUUUUUHHHHH!!

McCain is different than Bush in terms of honesty, lack of secrecy, etc. He certainly won't ask attorneys general to prosecute Democrats during their elections and then fire those attorneys general who won't comply with such politically motivated witch hunts. Nor will he delete his emails during scandals, or claim executive privilege for withholding vital information from Congress.
However, he thinks less in terms of diplomacy and more in terms of military threats, just like Bush. McCain also believes he can balance the budget during a sustained war in Iraq and a simultaneous expansion of the Bush tax cuts by merely line-item vetoing pork-barrel projects--which according to every economist makes as much budgetary sense as Bush's multi-trillion-dollar deficit. Also, McCain seems to have agreed with Bush's shrinking of our civil liberties in the name of national security.
If your concern about Bush is merely about his honesty and the lack of transparency of his administration, then McCain does not constitute a third Bush term.
If your concern about Bush is due to his lack of diplomacy, his war mongering, his shrinking of civil liberties, then there might be reason to fear a McCain presidency.
That doesn't mean that Obama is necessarily the right answer either. I'm talking solely in terms of McCain here. -
