Question U.S. Government

Why is Barack embarrassed about Americans that can't speak a Foriegn language?

raves +38 -14 by matty507
There was this little thing called a World War, that when the United States entered, we finished the job and saved many countries from Germany. Anyone with any brains know that Europeans are required to learn English so that someday when they meet an American, they can thank them in our language. The second reason is that if and when some Europeans decide to leave liberal Europe and come to the United States, they will be better prepared to be successful knowing the language. Certainly, there are thousands and thousands of Europeans leaving Europe to make a better life in America. I don't see the reciprical happening. When I served in Germany, the only words I really knew were, Ein Beer bitter. Barack is a disgrace to America and to the Democratic party. Im sick of being denigrated by him.

Answered Obama is a disgrace to America

I always thought Barack and Michelle were a perfect couple. She has only recently become proud of the U.S. because of the fact Barack is running for POTUS. They'll have a perfect marriage after McCain becomes POTUS. Michell can go back to not being proud of the U.S. and Barack can remain embarrassed of the U.S.

Learn to read toots... I didn't say learning other languages is Anti-American. NO- I said YOU were. If I kept my children home and schooled them myself, they would have a GREAT chance of being better educated anyway. So go find your helmet retard, and head back to Mexico where you obviously belong.
  • raves     [-] by Forlaniz3
Toots. That's sweet and old fashioned. A lot nicer than being called retard, but from you I've considered the source.

However, from how I understand it, I'm anti-American because I believe that other cultures, thus meaning other countries are better than America. And you know what, you homeschool your babies. I encourage it. It keeps them active, keeps you actively involved in their lives and that's exactly what children today need. At that point nobody can be blamed for not teaching them anything about multiculturalism or about the world 'cept you.

This is what your comment was that I responded to:
"The funny thing is that other people in other cultures not only know their "home language," but they also speak English and about 2-3 other languages. Who's REALLY the smart one here? Not America.... " How do you know this? And this one:
"I feel sorry for my "compadres" (literally co-parenting) as you stated, but they're more like "amigos," (friends). I see you're trying to use words that you don't have a firm grasp on. I feel sorry for them because they have this misconception of America's greatness, however, their main purpose for coming is to earn money to send back to their families because the economy is different. Other than that I don't think they'd have much interest..." Nobody asked you or your amigos to come to our country and take jobs that Americans can do. As for them coming here ( illegally, I presume ) and sending all their money home, it is called money laundering, which happens to be illegal in the U.S. So not only are all your little bean-eating buddies taking jobs, homes, and money from born and bred Americans, they are also doing it quite illegally. I am sure you are so proud. bleh...
  • raves +1 -1 [-] by Forlaniz3
Wow, you're so hateful. I mean, HATEFUL. It's like you have a grudge. LOL. And those beans are good, especially with huevos revueltos.

I'm a U.S. citizen by birth, not naturalization. LMAO! You crack me up Thir1t3en. Eventually you'll say something else that hits even more on racism, furthermore showing your true colors.
  • raves     [-] by thir1t3en
Im not hateful at all. I am not a racist either. I am just tired of poeple like you who feel they have a right to blaspheme the country. Might as well be a part of the American Jihad going on now. Just re-read what you wrote, is all I am saying. YOU sound really anti-American and racist.
  • raves +2   [-] by Forlaniz3
Ok. If that's what you believe then I guess that's your law.
  • raves     [-] by matty507
Bracha Williams, you have been reported.
  • raves +1   [-] by Forlaniz3
So be it, and I've reported you as well for user violation.
  • raves     [-] by matty507
I followed exactly what you said 13. Toots here hears what she wants to hear. Remember, she is a true terrorist. As long as she stays in Mexico and tells all of her Amigos how bad America is, maybe that will help. She also said she's going back to Mexico and doesn't like the United States. Ask her to take a few million back with her.
  • raves +1   [-] by Forlaniz3
Don't knock it (Mexico) till you try it! Plus, I'm in Georgia. However, I'm glad you've payed enough attention to what I've written that you're telling your buddies. Thank you, Matty, for giving me control over your mind.

Then leave it is a simple as that Forlaniz3. It is Liberals like you that are destroying America. Look at Carter, Clinton, Kerry, Kennedy just to mention a few of the Liberal jerks that have sold out America over the years. So there are a few ways that you can get into Mexico - Drive, Fly or swim!!!! See ya idiot!!!
  • raves +1   [-] by Forlaniz3
Marine: I'm not a liberal. The correct term is "socialist," and, I haven't sold America out to anything--I just desire Americans to improve. I guess I'm wrong for wanting people to improve their lives. Wow.

Up to a year ago (after taking U.S. political science-related classes) I thought America was pretty decent (and I've always loved the troops as I am a military dependent), and I've never said a word against any military personnel, yet here you are, calling me an "idiot," which is out of my name, although I've never fussed about the fact that loads of military people blindly serve to protect this country. You know that's the truth. If it's "above your paygrade," then you don't get to know the details--you just carry out the orders.

I simply desire for people to be as excited about self-education of the world around them as they are excited about trifling things. Somehow that point wasn't made clear, or it was overshadowed by foolishness, personal attacks and childish name calling. I know that there are many in the U.S. who desire to do better, but even with the handouts the government gives it's like everybody who needs them STILL isn't reached and when I went to a "3rd world country," their desire to learn and improve was/is so strong that in my mind put Americans to shame. That's pure observation that can be justified if one desires to research that.

Of course every country and people have faults, but it seems as if America is so used to being "entitled" to ...

Of course every country and people have faults, but it seems as if America is so used to being "entitled" to things that the effort--although present--isn't the STRONGEST impression given. No other nation with *means* appears to act like Americans act.

Once again I don't believe that everybody in America is despicable as some posters may FALSELY believe or have hastily formed a wrong opinion, but based on the comments in this post it makes me wonder about the quality of education and the quality of life Americans truly have vs. what they *believe* they have.

And although you're free to call names, Marine, doesn't mean you should and as old as you are with the kind of "world experience" and training I know you have, your response is a let-down.

    Have a good night.
  • raves +1   [-] by Marine
My response should not let you down, I am tired of these idiot politicians who sell out America and Countries like China, Korea and the others that take advantage of Americans. I guess I can not blame them it is our Govt who allows it. I am 100% true American, I love God, my family, my friends, my freedoms, my right to have my hunting guns and my right to say what is on my mind. I took an oath in the Marines part of it said " I swear to defend this nation against all enemies foregn and domestic" With the way things have been going since the early 60's it may come down to Americans protecting Americans. I am young only 46 but did travel the World and did fight in the Gulf War. I will not call names Forlaniz3 and I am trying to look at your point of view but I have a hard time with it. I do agree that some Americans are lazy and should get jobs to better America. I do agree with our Education process and feel that the NEA needs to be taken out of the Public Schools. The Teachers do not teach subjects all they teach are tests. We need to make our kids stay in School till 18. I will apologize for calling names I just love fac to face confrontations and will always stand up to defend and protect America.
  • raves     [-] by Beachluvr_Hussein_28
You can call it American since English from the UK and US are different. Since the first settlers arrived here the language has been adapted to suit local needs. Besides there are Enlish/American dictionaries to help translate the different adaptations of words.

Answered Obama is a disgrace to America

It would be nice if he addressed the multitude of children in this country in the fifth grade and higher, who can't even READ, before he begins to worry about those who are not bi-lingual.
  • raves     [-] by matty507
It depends on where you are. In middle America, states spend huge amounts of their money on education to ensure our children can read and write. I think you might have to look at what you said geographically. And I think we all know where the kids that can't read or write are from, geographically speaking. Thats not the Fed's problem, rather the states.
  • raves     [-] by LuvThisSite
And why is it the Fed's problem that many of us do not speak Spanish? If one is an issue to be addressed on the Federal level, then so should the other. And in my opinion, the "other" being the lack of basic reading skills is far more important than making the US even more friendly and attractive for illegal immigrants.

The FEDS have gotten involved in our schools, consider the NO CHILD LEFT BEHIND ACT
  • raves     [-] by matty507
I dont know who this is in response to, but I dont follow. Sorry
  • raves     [-] by Forlaniz3
Well, since Mexicans and learning Spanish seem to be a sore spot, why not discuss another language/people--like Japanese, French or Italian? You've finally made a good point about addressing foreign language and illiteracy on the same (Federal) level instead of one having more prevalence than the other. In this one instance I actually agree with you.

*Maybe the government should start the No Parent Left Behind Act--to make parental involvement across all education levels and income brackets-- more involved with their childrens' education.
  • raves +1 -1 [-] by matty507
That may get alot of attention from the black community. You would piss off the NAACP. They might start calling that racial parenting.
  • raves     [-] by Bwana
He has, on many occasions. Unlike bush, Obama is not someone who thinks a "C" average is "jest fahn, and all ya need fer clearin' brush".

Leave no child behind, what a joke that was.

    Answered Undecided

Most people in the world (outside of the US) speak at least two different languages. I don't think it's fair that people in the world basically have to learn English. He should be embarrassed because we are one of the only countries where most of the people don't speak another language fluently...
  • raves     [-] by matty507
I dont think you can prove that at all. You're frigging 18 years old. How would you know diddley squat. Got CNN In the United States, it has long been a rule that in high school , you need to take a foreign language. You can't even get into a College anymore without having a foreign language. What is it with our young people that think they know everything. FYI Tiffy. People from other countries learn English because it is the Universal Language of the world and the business world. But you wouldn't know that would you? Are you going to college? Did you graduate from H.S.?

Last point for you Tiffy. The United States is one of the few self sufficient countries on this planet. If you don't know what self sufficient means, go educate yourself. We need not have to learn other languages because Americans aren't building homemade boats and risking their lives to go to other countries to make a better life. If I thought that China had more to offer me in life, I might learn Chinese. If I thought Europe had more to offer me in life, I might learn, shit, one of their languages. But they don't.

Im more embarrassed of you, being that Im from Minnesota, that you would make a statement that sounds utterly stupid. offer life learn shit languages embarrassed minnesota statement sounds stupid

How does being young make someone wrong. Do you want us to get our grandparets to come on here and say your too young to know anything? Age doesn't trump reason.
