Did you know this was in Obama's Book Is this someone we can see as the President of our great nation!!!!
From Dreams of My Father: 'I ceased to advertise my mother's race at the age of 12 or 13, when I began to suspect that by doing so I was ingratiating myself to whites.'

From Dreams of My Father : 'I found a solace in nursing a pervasive sense of grievance and animosity against my mother's race.'

From Dreams of My Father: 'There was something about him that made me wary, a little too sure of himself, maybe. And white.'

From Dreams of My Father: 'It remained necessary to prove which side you were on, to show your loyalty to the black masses, to strike out and name names.'

From Dreams of My Father: 'I never emulate white men and brown men whose fates didn't speak to my own. It was into my father's image, the black man, son of Africa , that I'd packed all the attributes I sought in myself , the attributes of Martin and Malcolm, DuBois and Mandela.'

And FINALLY the Most Damming one of ALL of them!!!
From Audacity of Hope: 'I will stand with the Muslims should the political winds shift in an ugly direction

Answered I had no ideal this was in his book, he is scary

I cannot understand how the Democrats so blindly follow this self imposed Messiah!!! I do not know if it is because they will vote for a Democrat no matter how bad he is or they let their hate for Bush blind them from seeing the truth. If just one of the controversies surrounding him were about a Republican he would have been thrown out! It reminds me of the German people and how they turned a blind eye away because of their pride and loyalty to their country that allowed concentration camps and burning bodies in their own back yards! It is truly a frightening time for our country and our freedom.

You and I know there is nothing free! And if the government runs it, it going to be quite expensive!
  • raves +1   [-] by Tricia ~ NO PALIN - FVMA
I think it is already outrageously expensive compared to other countries that cover everyone. If we get the insurance industry out of it, it will function better and cost a great deal less.

My daughter works for the state work comp insurance company. There is a lot of waste. She worked for us when she was going to school. She knows how you must insist on productivity and be careful how you spend. The state work comp company is probably going to go under because they are not as efficient as those that are privately owned.

I understand your point about bureaucracies KD, but the possibility of some inefficiency exists in the public and private sector. With a necessary service like health care, I am much more concerned about how much the large layer of profit adds to the overall expense of the system.

I am also concerned about this HMO, PPO, etc business with insurance. It has not helped the situation at all. I don't think government is the answer though. Maybe some regulation......
  • raves +1   [-] by Tricia ~ NO PALIN - FVMA
I hope there will be a lot of public input in the process so that all views are considered, KD. I just hope that we can find a way as Americans to make sure that people have access to health care and the we don't have an industries whose business it is to deny coverage to increase profit.

I would like it to be a single payer system for economic and efficiency reasons, but I will settle for anything that doesn't leave people without care. So yes maybe .....

Well, we have had a very good discussion. Maybe we can fix it if we don't just yell about it but actually listen also. Thank you for the good discussion.

And thank you KD, it has been a pleasure!

If you think anything or anyone is going to get the insurance industry "out of it" you're smoking too much on that hopey-changey pipe. Won't happen... not with Obama and not with any other politician.

Part of the medical lawsuits issue is that medical mistakes often lead to a lifetime of medical expenses. Those expenses are not an unbearable burden in universal health care system.

I know we aren't going to agree about solutions, but we do agree that we need to get the insurance bureaucracy out of our health care. Although I am fortunate in having a relationship with my doctor, I agree with you about that too.

A lifetime of medical expenses should be covered. An unreasonable payment for pain and suffering should be limited. If we don't do it, we won't lower the cost of healthcare.

If we get a decent health care system, I will be fine with reasonable limits.

Magnum, I respect your opinion. It differs from mine and we read many things differently, but at least you base it on your perspective of the facts and don't go around quoting Andy Martin.

obama nor his wife are muslim what is your problem ....you are just as racist as the new york paper with it's mess ....
  • raves   -1 [-] by shelb33 [obama!!]
are you kidding me? that is soo ridiculous!
why is it that just because barack obama's name sounds muslim, and that he is an african-american, people think he is going to become a terrorist and hate america and all that stuff? well that is really racist of you who all think that. obama will be a strong president, and i think that he is a change our country needs. especially right now! do you all want to have our army men suffer through war any longer? well if you do then vote for mcCain. have fun puting our "land of the free" country through something that we shouldnt be doing right now. what ever happened to "peace on earth"?
  • raves +1   [-] by eyebrowz
Why is it that just because he is a black man anything said against him is racist? Or just because he is of a different religion, anything said is prejudice? My comment saw neither race nor religion, It was based on what he stands for, and his actions. I have not slandered your opinions, jumping on you with rash comments to defend my views, nor have I said anything about the race or religion of this man. How then do you find yourselves justified In calling me a racist? I cannot help he is an African American, would you feel better if I photo shopped his picture to make him look white? Would that be more agreeable to you? Would I then be entitled to my own opinion? I personally do not agree with what he stands for and do not agree with what his intentions are once elected (so there is no confusion: this statement has nothing to do with the color of this mans skin or the religion he practices). I do not agree with McCain either will you now say that I am anti-christian? or that I am racist against white people? I'm sure you won't. Perhaps what is really wrong with this country is the narrow minded self righteous people that speak before they even understand, jumping to conclusions, pretending everything has a racist or prejudice foundation, stirring up trouble and hate for no reason but to feel they have said something meaningful. .

I think what a 12 year old child thinks is exactly that. It sounds like the young man was processing his family and purpose during his adolescent phase. To admire and aspire to heroes, as he a child, of his own making is normal and i might add commendable because it was focused on society at that volatile time. This confirms in my mind that he possesses the gray matter and awareness to make sound decisions and policies. With regard to the Muslim thing, i agree with him, I have seen an aggression toward the group, and not put in check, the old "we have a couple of bad apples here" so lets blame everyone attitude. Lets grow up and demonstrate that we are a great nation!

This is yet another attempt to smear Obama with misquotes and downright lies. As with them all, these have been completely refuted by simply showing the real quotes. Look it up yourself -- you don't deserve help finding it out.
