it's really not complicated, any child can do it. If he can't figure that out, how is he supposed to deal with actual problems????

I think it is very important for a President to be in the now and the internet and computers are very now.

Albert Einstein didn't know his phone number either.

Are you actually comparing Albert Einstein and John McCain?

Not by a long shot, but this is a rather moronic poll and if it takes a comment like that to get through to the short bus riders so be it.

I really dont see how that would matter, The current president and every other president probably has thier email answered and read to them. I dont think that can even be a qualification. Lincoln used pen & Ink and he turned out to be one of the great American Presidents.
  • raves     [-] by Jen
I hope you quit using the current president as an example ASAP.

Edit: Lincoln used pen and ink because that was the technological standard of the time. If he HADN'T been able to figure out pen and ink, then there would have been an issue.
  • raves     [-] by shirlstermcg
I will use whatever example i wish... you dont have to like it... ..so what a blind person couldnt be president? Please.. its not an issue.... Steven Hawking had ALS and couldnt even hold a pen... That didnt stop him from being one of the most brilliant physicists of our time. Helen Keller was probably one of the most prolific people ever. The internet and use of a computer to be president... thats just rubbish. Everyone has limitations its how you get around them that brings you to greatness. I stand by our President and every other American President. ( Even the ones I disagreed with) John McCain has done more in his life than 10 normal Americans. His sacrifice and service to this country makes him more than qualified for that position to say nothing about his experience in Washington.
  • raves     [-] by Jen
Dude -- once again you use a terrible example. The fact that Steven Hawking couldn't hold a pen is in NO WAY similar to McCain's ability to use a computer in that Hawking is hindered by an actual physical disability, whereas McCain lacks the brain power to figure out how to use a computer. If Hawking had the motor skills, he could build a computer out of spare parts at a junkyard.

His service to this country??? His sacrifice??? He crashed 4 planes, the last of which landed him in a prison in Vietnam. He finished 894th out of 899 in his class.

"Navy pilot John Sidney McCain III should have never been allowed to graduate from the U.S. Navy flight school. He was a below average student and a lousy pilot. Had his father and grandfather not been famous four star U.S. Navy admirals, McCain III would have never been allowed in the cockpit of a military aircraft. "

McCain has roughly 20 COMBAT HOURS. What the fuck kind of service is that, man??

Edit: You compare John McCain to Helen Keller? A blind, deaf and dumb woman who learned how to speak the English language? All I'm asking John McCain to do is learn how to use a computer (even just its basic functions). My 6 year old sister knows how to use a computer.
  • raves     [-] by shirlstermcg
OMG jen get some facts to back up your comments. John McCain said he doesnt use email or the internet no one said he couldnt use a computer. You missed my point altogether. the non use of the computer is not an impedement holy cow. Most CEOs barely use them that why they have aids. Btw using foul language doesnt make your point.
  • raves     [-] by Jen
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?...

HE IS COMPUTER ILLITERATE. The "non-use" of a computer is an impediment.

You have nothing to say about everything else that I wrote? The facts that I stated above are, indeed (believe it or not), facts.

His war record wasn the issue and I think that 5 years in a prison camp in Vietnam is more sacrifice than anyone should have to give for his country... Wow I didnt respond to your hateful rant because it was so unbelievably incensitive and one sided it insulted me. My uncle and father also served in vietnam. 10 minutes in that place was hell on earth. John McCain flew 23 bombin missions in a 4 month period of time. The combat hours you are talking about are in air hours in a combat zone. John was stationed in Panama when he volunteered for combat duty in dec 1966. Got severley injured in the fire on the USS Forestal , recoverd and volunteered yet again to go back to combat. and served only a little over 3 months before he was shot down and captured. He didnt crash the plane get your facts straight. As a pow he had been treated fairly well for the first few years in solitary confinement until he was offered early release, he refused the release insisting that the other prisoners be released before him. That cost him 3-1/2 more years. So do I think that was enough? You bet your butt I do. My uncle is a pow survivor as well and I sit in awe that John McCain is the man he is today having lived 5 years through it. Do you have any idea how much strength that takes? I suppose not and that is what is wrong with a lot of Americans today they dont have any idea what sacrifice is.

Yes, I think it would be good if the President was in touch enough with modern America to be competent in the use of some of the newer technologies. I read your source article. I found int troubling that when he was asked what sites he looks at, the first thing he said was the Drudge Report.

If a Presidential candidate is first going to reference some right-wing spiel when he gets on the internet, I don't think he should be President.

We need a President well-grounded in facts and NOT reliant on wrong-wing propoganda emanating from places like the Drudge Report.

Well it should be a requirement however if you haven't noticed I don't think it currently changes peoples votes... I take that back after what happened last time, maybe people will think a little more on who to choose.

I'm not a Bush supporter, and I know that you, StreetSpirit, are not a Bush supporter either.

Yet, I find it uncomfortable, knowing what a mindless piece of scum you are, in being on the same side of the fence with you.

That's the problem with a coalition. I have to rub elbows with low-life pieces of shit like StreetSpirit.

    Ah well, I guess a vote's a vote.
