Someone said this to me once: Phil Collins can NOT sing. Do you agree?

I think he has a very nice voice; what do you think?

Songs in order are
"Follow You, Follow Me" (Genesis)
"Tonight, Tonight, Tonight" (Genesis)
"That's All" (Genesis)

PS- I'm not quite sure of the genre he falls under (as some of you know, genres are NOT my strongpoint XD). He's kind of a cross between pop and classic rock? IDK. He's 80s though. Oh I don't know!

Answered He can sing, and I like his music

He may not be the best singer in the world, But has the ability to write ,sing and record music without help from others. Great heart and is able to convey it through his songs. Like him or not, no one now has any thing close to his creative abilties now in this talent- less era of music we are in.

Phil collins has some pretty good songs..I wouldn't say I like all his music but he's got some pretty kick-ass songs....

He can sing, but not that well. And I think most of his songs are likeable for their nostalgiac value. But I'm sure he's got plenty of fans who would disagree, it's all good. =]
He's got some pretty catchy tunes!

That is the stupdiest things I've ever heard, he's one of the best singer around. People like to bag him bcoz he's not cool, but I don't feel the need to impress people by saying he can't sing

The guys in Genesis sure thought he could sing otherwise they would never have asked him to join the band! He replaced Peter Gabriel on vocals and I think he was a good choice. I liked most of what he produced while with Genesis but not the pop music when he went solo. All in all.. good voice.. good but not a great singer.. plus he can sing while he plays drums. Try that.. it ain't easy!

Like Dal Dude said.. he sings with a lot of heart!

phil can sing but what he chooses to sing has me running for the toilet.he WAS agood drummer ,now he never plays. genesis was never the same when peter gabriel and steve hackett left.

Compared to most of those who get airplay today, he's not a bad singer at all. Unfortunately, since his brilliant "Face Value" album, a lot of his music is lame.
