    None of the above.

We can take him and Sharpton out of the picture real quick if we as a country would just get over it.

    It's a word.

It makes just about anyone who uses it known for the ignorance they hold.

I can say that, yes, there is ignorance and racism in this world. It needs to go away. But by controlling the use of a word is not the way to do it. It only makes those of us who are educated resentful to these retarded rules (when we live in the birth place of Free Speech!)

Does anyone really listen to Jesse Jackson anymore? Seriously. The black community has seen the emergence of other people much better suited in representing their issues in recent years. Jesse is a has-been trying to stay in the national spotlight.

Sick of hearing what these "Old" thinkers have to say....Jesse Jackson, Al Sharpton and all of them. They need to retire because this is not the mindset of most Americans....black, white or any other ethnic group...we are trying to all live together and just be Americans! The civil rights movement is over. BHO has proved that a Black man or woman (Condi Rice) can do just as much as anyone else when they work for it.
Hard work people....Nothing gets handed to you! Free America means free to live your dreams practice your own religion etc....Not to steal from tax payers! I think we should ablolish the welfare system! Tell peole to get a job or live in a shack

For Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton...Nappy headed Hoe's was the "N" word that got Imus fired.
I say there are just as many white NIGGERS as there are black Niggers.......lol
Obams says......"It's only words" Get over it...name calling has been around for centuries...quit crying!

I got confused reading the question and some of your answers.
The "N" bomb is socially accepted by the black community. They can call each other that name until the cows come home and nobody gets pissed. The second a white person says it, you have WW3 on your hands. I have never understood that and probably never will. But I certainly do not walk around calling all my white friends "honkey" or "cracker". Go figure. Too bad he was heard saying it. I am sure he meant it in a nice kind of way. understood walk calling white friends honkey cracker figure heard meant
  • raves +4   [-] Forlaniz3 replied to Petesisterindisguise
Wrong. Not all of us like or call each other by that name, but leave it to someone to generalize an entire ethnicity. That's how it usually works. Plus, there is no way that Jesse meant it in a "nice" way. There is no "nice" way when using that word, because it is a word rooted in hate. So, the only way it was meant was for evil, not to mention the other things he said that he would do to Obama--all hateful.
  • raves +3   [-] Petesisterindisguise replied to Forlaniz3
The last part of my comment was riddled with sarcasm. Too bad that you can't express that on a computer. I live in a predominantly black community and I KNOW first hand how the whole "n" word theory goes. So if you, Forlaniz3, are black and someone calling you a nigger is NOT offensive, then I commend you for not having that chip on your shoulder. But around here, that is NOT the case, hence the reason for my comment.
  • raves +3   [-] Forlaniz3 replied to Petesisterindisguise
I can count the number of times I've been called the "n" word by my own and by others. However, I've been called "cracker" on occasion... usually "asshole." *smile*

jackson is a hypocrite. though he has made advances for the african american race, it just proves what a big talker he is.

I think being that Jessie Jackson is of the same decent as BO that he can speak of him that way. It is not like he thought that he was saying it to the public anyway. Jessie Jackson should not have apologized. The person that aired it is the one that was guilty.
  • raves +2   [-] Forlaniz3 replied to KARA
I'm not attacking you, just asking a question in a normal tone of voice (as if we were speaking face to face): do you believe that because both Jackson and Obama are of African descent that Jackson has the right to address Obama in that way?

Now, Jackson may not have been speaking to the public, but he was in a public place and he honestly should have known better. When in public with lots of mics and cameras around: anything is possible. Had
