Do you think the poor communications between various countries is a result of poor communication or good communication?

Many moons ago, countries did not have the advantage of picking up satellite symbols or traveling to other countries on the spur of the moment. Each country just sort of stayed to themselves. Now with so much sophisticated global communication tools, there is no such thing as remaining isolated from the rest of the world. At first you might think that this was a bad thing, or was it.

Answered Global telecommunications should not be confused with the art of good communication.

We have vast means of Global telecommunications. Tele-conferencing sophisticated enough to make you feel like you are in the room with the other person on the other side of the world. We have WiFi, Skype, etc.. We can talk to someone visually on our monitors now.
It is the action of the two persons (or more) whom are communicating which brings success or failure.

Sometimes I just think that the world has gotten so big through global communications that we know people on the other side of the world better than we know our neighbors.

It is interesting to know so many people, but not REALLY know them. I test the tele-conferencing system with IT folks in Malaysia, Japan, France, Spain etc.. prior to a conferences and we are always happy to see each other.
I also have meetings on the system with RIM in Canada, my Team in Arizona, Vendors all over the US. And yes - it is a great way to get to know people. Global is the future - of most corporations large and medium and a great tool for our Government. (If used properly!).

BUT - my friends and neighbors know me best. These folks only know the professional, friendly me. I get to make my friends and neighbors laugh and I get to comfort them in times of need. :)

Don't get me wrong, I enjoy being able to speak to people in different places and I applaud the technology.

But you are right - we have to keep in mind that our friends and neighbors are right here with us!

A perfect example of what is wrong with this country and others is that many people stand behind their country when things are perfect, as soon as things do not go as they want them to they make idiotic statements like if Obama does not win I am moving to Canada, or wherever, what makes them think that any other country wants someone that will leave as soon as they do not get thier way?? We act like EVERY country does not have its own set of issues and the USA seems to take a good beating.

    Answered None of the above

Stuffing the mailbox with junk mail is not communication. Just because we have bigger and fuller mailboxes doesn't mean we have communication.
