Whoopee expressed the fact that since she is a black person, she should be able to say the nigger word, but white people can't. Imagine if a white host said the things she said. It's deplorable. Lets get the discussion going. I myself felt disgusted just typing the word. Sorry if seeing it offends you, as it offends me. I guess it was only 3X. Initial reports I read said 6X. Maybe saying it 3X is better than 6X. I dont know.

The context of the word is the important thing. Every time Whoopie used that word, she did so as a point of reference while making a point during that conversation.

I would have to see how it was used, but I don't like the damn word period in reference to something or not! I say the N word if I'm referring to it. I do agree with what Whoppi G. said and yes we as in blacks, still have to deal with racism in this society. Whoppi was showing examples, so the people who are claiming she needs to be fired for using the "N" word needs to quit playing with them selves. -

The N-word is a deplorable one indeed and it should be shunned by society as a very vile thing to be uttered regardless of the color of the persons skin. Whoopee should be harshly reprimanded for it, but I think that the only reason she did it was for publicity due to the whole jesse jackson thing. On the other hand though we got whitey, cracker, and honkey but none of these conjure up such a nasty image as does the n-word.

Goldberg is a member in good standing of the "liberal elite." She's trusted to speak anyway she see's fit because as an elitist she is far above racism. Incapable of it. If so, and IMUS was fired (though eventually back to work) for saying "nappy headed ho", then Whoopie should be -- She is no different -- Right? Oh, I forgot, there is a different standard for "those" people...... silly me. Oh, and by the way, if people did their homework on Imus, they would know how much good he has done for underprivileged people, including black children -- He is not a racist.
