if someone is pregnant how can due drugs to harm the baby???????
-
Answered they dont want the baby
most of the time pregnancy and addiction go hand in hand, they don't realize how much the drugs will really effect the child most of the time but I have a hard time believing that any mother would purposely put their unborn child in harms way, addiction is a disease. Speaking as someone who had a mother who did drugs while pregnant with them, I see the consequences in myself. -

I'm with HairlessKat. People who are addicted aren't really in the most rational mindset they aren't going to reason that their actions will effect the baby all they have is that need to feel good again.
Some mothers do take concentrated doses of drugs to abort their baby and in doing so they put their own lives at risk which is why I'm pro-choice. -
Answered there stupid
You need an all of the above. If they truly wanted their baby they wouldn't do anything while pregnant to harm it. IE..drugs, alcohol. cigs. etc. They're stupid and self centered that they couldn't put the baby before them for 9 mos to have it and give the baby to someone who would want him/her and give him/her the love he/she deserves. It's ridiculous the people who get pregnant then abuse/neglect their child(ren). There is only one way not to have kids....Don't have sex!! You want to have sex and take the chance of having a baby then you better be ready to take care of that child. -

http://books.elsevier.com/com... this is a link to a photo story of babies being born addicted - its a sad sad thing to see a drug addict mother give birth to a baby- ususally a premature birth- all sorts of health problems- then as the child grows- if he/she is lucky and survives - grow up with learning disabilities- -

Your grammar needs some work there.. and the options are not good.. but I would answer that those who are strongly addicted to drugs are not thinking clearly because of the addiction and have little self control with that addiction already in place to make a good choice for themselves or their unborn baby... its that simple. Women who take drugs while pregnant rarely if ever continue to do so simply because they are 'stupid' and dont think it will hurt the baby or because they wish the baby harm. That goes against maternal instincts which are built in hormonally.. so its not something you can usually control (although the feelings and emotions can be denied).
Our country really needs to wake up and use more understanding and compassion in how we teach our children to judge others choices and lives. Im not saying its okay or good to do something like that, but rational help for women with drug addiction would go far to reducing the harm caused by addiction. Closed rehab in a hospital would be the best option but I would imagine they generally end up in jail where they meet more addicts and plot ffor the future without the baby.... rehab could teach them better life and parenting skills.
