Have you ever stopped a friend from commiting suicide?

It wasn't easy, trying to convince her to not tae her life away. Cuz whe she's determined, she's set. But, luckily after tons of phone calls daily and 2 months of convincing, it worked. She no longer wanted to take her life. -

as in a previous poll, I said my husband is Clinically Depressed. 3 years ago, he was unemployed, drinking way too much and took all of his meds (heart, BP, cholesterol, anti-depressant & anti-anxiety)...I locked him in the vehicle, spent 3 hours driving to the nearest VA-unfortunately!! only place to go-and spent 12 hours in the ER waiting....waiting...waiting....
Guess what? They said he was depressed! NFS! -

My ex of 4 years said he was gonna kill himself because i was all he had left(he was a major meth addict) i found him trying to cut his right hand. and i went up and smacked him and told him if i really was that important to him he would quit the drugs like i asked him 2 years ago. next thing i know he was in jail and got sick and finally quit meth but i have moved on and out of california -

tried to several times. the illness (bipolar disorder) took a long time and with many ups and downs. eventually she took her own life and left a note to ask me to understand. i do... and i don't. it was very sad. she was extremely bright and talented, had two kids and a husband. it is a horrible disease. -

yes twice actually they were both just having a hard time in there life one of them her parents had just got devorced but i convinced both not to after a while of talking to them and actually some of my friends helped me through some of that s**t to but im a lil better and so are they. -

my situation had a very horrible and life changing ending. i had a best friend and she meant the world to me. we were so close. at first we didnt like each other to much but then we grew to love each other. she had lead a very hard life in the past she and her brother had been in social services plenty of times. her mother was a very bad heroind addict.but her dad cleaned up his act as well as her mother. they got rights back for her and her little brother and everything was going well. she was going to school and getting her life back on track and doing VERY well. she had a boyfriend and they were so haooy together. it was like a love she never had in her life before. well one day her and her boyfriend had a fight. and her mother had got back into the stuff. i guess her mother was shooting up with her and shortly after that we found out that her mother was HIV positive. and she had shared a needle with her. so one day she didnt go to school and neither did i cause i had a doctors appt. well that day she had been messed up on heroind and meth. she called me at 2:30 that afternoon and i wasnt home well while i was at the doctors appt. had i of been home to get that call i probably could of avoided theis situation the way i avoided many others like this with her. i got a call at...my situation had a very horrible and life changing ending. i had a best friend and she meant the world to me. we were so close. at first we didnt like each other to much but then we grew to love each other. she had lead a very hard life in the past she and her brother had been in social services plenty of times. her mother was a very bad heroind addict.but her dad cleaned up his act as well as her mother. they got rights back for her and her little brother and everything was going well. she was going to school and getting her life back on track and doing VERY well. she had a boyfriend and they were so haooy together. it was like a love she never had in her life before. well one day her and her boyfriend had a fight. and her mother had got back into the stuff. i guess her mother was shooting up with her and shortly after that we found out that her mother was HIV positive. and she had shared a needle with her. so one day she didnt go to school and neither did i cause i had a doctors appt. well that day she had been messed up on heroind and meth. she called me at 2:30 that afternoon and i wasnt home well while i was at the doctors appt. had i of been home to get that call i probably could of avoided theis situation the way i avoided many others like this with her. i got a call at about 4:00 that she had shot herself in the head and there was a letter left for her b/f that said she had tested positive also and saw no reason to live. i will never forget that day. her mom and dad were on the road and hadnt been home in about a month. what just boggles my mind is why in the hell would you leave a loaded gun in the house with a child that has been in and out of mental hospitals for attempted suicide? her little brother is the one that found her on the couch with the gun in her hand and the letter. she was only 15 years old. her brother is doing well now i wish the best for him and would do ANYTHING for him.RIP tristen benson(less) -

In the end nobody was able to stop him. But I did help to delay it a few years.
