I love my boys (an Aussie and a Scottie). But people do come first.
I have to say I am generally surprised by the amount of people that voted animals over humans. I wonder how that develops. I feel great pity if I see a domesticated animal running around the street or if I see a missing pet poster. But I get really emotional if I see a homeless person or an abducted or runaway child poster. -

I most definatlly am more symathetic towards animals. The main reason why is because they can't tell us what they need, we decide when they eat, they might have to use the bathroom when we are out, and much more. We get so much more than animals do, and they can't do what they need when they need it. We scold them too for things we wouldn't get in trouble for. -

Humans of course! Animal cruelty is upsetting and tragic, but people being treated LIKE animals is heinous.
Generally speaking, humans have a longer life span, so an atrocity suffered by a human child will stick with them for like 80 years...and they'll have the intelligence to really feel the damage emotionally that whole time. -

Answered All of the above
Generally speaking, we "humans" control the environment and impose our will upon others. We take what we want & leave behind that which holds little or no interest to us. The strong take advantage of the weak and we abuse our resources and wildlife to the point of distruction and/or extinction.
So, who should we be more sympathetic towards but those who need our protection.
