I hope so...I'm a classic rock DJ. Actually, Classic Rock is doing better now then it was 10 years ago. Listening is WAY UP with teens and early 20 year olds! It's going to be here for a while and will always be cool because it's the roots of rock and roll! -

Ok, I realise I'm 22, but I know of so many ppl who r younger than me that love listening 2 all the classics. I was brought up on them, so naturally I'm gonna tell those who say the classics r crap, "2 go 2 hell" coz they suck! -

My music collection wouldn't be complete without the classics. Not to mention most of the current bands today are influenced by at least one classic rock band (if not more). Thats the stuff I grew up on because my older sisters were listening to it, from there I branched out. -

Being from Philly we also got the Dress rehersal for it kind of. 2 weeks earlier was Atlantic City Pop Festival with most of the performers from Woodstock showing up and way smaller crowds. Philly was a great city to grow up in for music

raves +2 Aug 16, 2008 09:31PM GMT (edited)Some of these classic rock bands from the late 60's and 70's, went into the 80's- Queen is a perfect example. It appeared that you were commenting on the Queen video/song I posted (saying that song was from the 80's when they are still considered to be classic rock). Maybe instead of being so brief, post your own opinion without insulting mine.

raves +2 Aug 16, 2008 10:33PM GMTLook at your first statement above.
"Sorry, no not the 80's" That's it. That is all you said.
I did not even take in to account my words (above the song post), or the fact that you were only remarking on my personal preferences in music, and not on "who is or who is not" defined as classic rock.
After the "protest" poll the other day, I'm afraid you have me on the defensive. -
raves +6 Aug 16, 2008 07:22PM GMT (edited)I have a good one for your son! When I was little, I was really into The Beatles (still am). But one day (when I was a kid), my dad and I were listening to "Lucy in the sky w/ Diamonds," and the part "the girl w/ Kaleidoscope eyes."
I was singing "the girl with colitis goes by.." My dad was like "what did you say?" And I did not realize at the time, because that is what it sounded like to me! Now I do it as a joke, but I definately listen more carefully to the words as an adult!
Btw, I loved that song by Randy Vanwarmer-I love the one-hit wonders of the 70's best! -
