    I agree with Mrs.032.

Punks did whatever the hell they wanted to.

And that's what made it Punk.

The fact they actually stood up for what they believed in, not caring how they did it, not caring who they offended or how it sounded.

    They didnt believe in limits.

Its not but people(musicians)tend to keep it that way. They themselves could be more creative, but they choose not to, because thats what they think punk is. But i think punk could build up to something greater if we'd just try.Because like any other style of music, we have not reached a barrier we cant cross.

Listen to almost any true punk band, actually listen to them, and you'll see influences from reggae in almost every single song

"Punk" is more of a mentality against the status-quo, so I think the musical range is vast... it is all in one's creativity.

You've got your head on straight. Whoever this guy is, I agree with him. Or girl. whichever. Can't tell from their words. Anyway I saw a movie about Joe Strrummer, people should see it. It's called the future is unwritten, you'll love it.

A load of punk bands have successfully strayed from their distorted guitar and fast drum beginnings. Into such categories as Reggae, Jazz, Blues, and Pop, while staying true to their lyrics and not 'selling out' if you will.
