How much does race play a part in this race.?
Poll: Racial views steer some away from ObamaOne-third of polled white Democrats harbor negative views toward blacks WASHINGTON - Deep-seated racial misgivings could cost Barack Obama the White House if the election is close, according to an AP-Yahoo News poll that found one-third of white Democrats harbor negative views toward blacks — many calling them "lazy," "violent" or responsible for their own troubles.
The poll, conducted with Stanford University, suggests that the percentage of voters who may turn away from Obama because of his race could easily be larger than the final difference between the candidates in 2004 — about two and one-half percentage points.
Certainly, Republican John McCain has his own obstacles: He's an ally of an unpopular president and would be the nation's oldest first-term president. But Obama faces this: 40 percent of all white Americans hold at least a partly negative view toward blacks, and that includes many Democrats and independents'Less likely to vote for Obama'
More than a third of all white Democrats and independents — voters Obama can't win the White House without — agreed with at least one negative adjective about blacks, according to the survey, and they are significantly less likely to vote for Obama than those who don't have such views.
Such numbers are a harsh dose of reality in a campaign for the history books. Obama, the first black candidate with a serious shot at the presidency, accepted the Democratic nomination on the 45th anniversary of Martin Luther King Jr.'s "I Have a Dream" speech, a seminal moment for a nation that enshrined slavery in its Constitution.
"There are a lot fewer bigots than there were 50 years ago, but that doesn't mean there's only a few bigots," said Stanford political scientist Paul Sniderman who helped analyze the exhaustive survey.
The pollsters set out to determine why Obama is locked in a close race with McCain even as the political landscape seems to favor Democrats. President Bush's unpopularity, the Iraq war and a national sense of economic hard times cut against GOP candidates, as does that fact that Democratic voters outnumber Republicans.

Once riding in old Baltimore,
Heart-filled, head-filled with glee,
I saw a Baltimorean
Keep looking straight at me.
Now I was eight and very small,
And he was no whit bigger,
And so I smiled,
but he poked out His tongue,
and called me, "Nigger."
I saw the whole of Baltimore
From May until December;
Of all the things that happened there
That's all that I remember
The strangest things stick to people in the oddest ways... I think we all hope we are past those days... But though dying off thank God we do see hate is alive... That's why no matter what side of the fence you're on this is an important moment in America that a lot of souls wished to see... -

The numbers are in: 95% of all black Americans will vote for Obama.
Obviously, race is all that matters to 95% of the black voters

African Americans make up a very small percentage (overrall) in America, so even if we wanted vote Obama, into the White House, we couldn't. Race has always been an issue, with some of you .America's whole premise has been based on race, so why is it now being thrown in our laps, as though we created this mess.
The truth of the matter is, if Obama was white, he would be leading McCain by a landslide, so don't tell me that blacks are the only ones, who you perceive to have race issues, a very large percentage of his supporters are white, and he wouldn't be were he is (in the polls) if it wasn't for them.. -

1. "Obama is an idiot"
Answer: False, they are hardly giving "idiots" degrees from Harvard the last time I checked.
2. (Obama)"is obviously a puppett for Soros and Ayers"
Answer: False
Support:
The New York Times: Obama And Ayers “Do Not Appear To Have Been Close.”
The Associated Press: Obama And Ayers Relationship Is “Exaggerated At Best If Not Outright False:”
CNN: Palin’s Claim That Obama Is Palling Around With Terrorists Is “False.”

America is tired of these negative soundbites and mudslinging from McCain supporters. Why is it that you can not forward the platform and policy of your candidate as opposed to attacking Obama? Your reply will say volumes about you to the SH community...
Obama / Biden 08... the only rational choice
